The park is open everyday from 8 to 5.
Whenver we go up to Door County - whether to pick cherries or to relax on Washington Island - we almost always stop at Cave Point Park to get amazed at the way the lake pounds under the shore, creating these unique "caves" down below. It's hard to get tired watching the work of waves...

This park's 3,775 acres have miles of hiking and biking trails, and clean, uncrowded beaches.
Peninsula State Park is a Wisconsin treasure. Biking and hiking trails, a comfortable beach, a historic stop at the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, serene drives and camping grounds. It is a must stop for us every single time we visit Door County.

Explore Door County’s most iconic lighthouse, which in 2019 celebrated 150 years of standing watch on the shore of Lake Michigan. Ride a hay-wagon over the causeway to explore the island, including the 89-foot-tall light tower, oil storage house and lighthouse keeper’s home. The highlight of any Cana Island visit is climbing the 97 steps of the tower’s spiral staircase to reach the gallery deck, which delivers a sweeping panoramic view of Lake Michigan and the Door County peninsula.
Must see! Cool tractor ride across the shallow water to get to island where you can explore the grounds. Reading about the history was very interesting. We were not allowed up the lighthouse due to covid rules but still got to see a lot. Pit toilets available on the island. We spent about 30-45 min all total on the island

It was very easy to find, get tickets, and board with our vehicle. Be sure to exit your vehicle before the ferry fills up, or it's hard to get out of your car in the small space! Deck and cabin offer beautiful views of Death's Door and the smaller islands.

Welcome to Harbor Ridge Winery. We invite you to taste our award-winning wines. With a range from dry, semi-sweet to sweet, we aim to please a multitude of palates. Relax and enjoy a glass of wine on our patio or log loft. One sip and the world’s problems begin to slip away.
We spent a wonderful hour sampling and then buying Door County wines, some of which were produced by Harbor Ridge as well as some from other Door County wineries. They have an excellent selection of wines and they offer sampling for all of their wines. In addition, they have a cheese shop next door which sells an excellent selection of cheeses.

What a relaxing way to soak up some sun and enjoy a truly beautiful place, Beach is made up of smooth rocks vs sand...great for skipping on the waters surface. Water looked clean and inviting. A couple of neat photo ops here. No pets allowed.

This chapel is a beautiful and pristine work of art. As a seasoned woodworker, it has to be among the most impressive structures I have ever been in. Joinery is all hidden and logs are hand hewn. The design and execution of this chapel is truly awe inspiring. Being there will no doubt inspire a spiritual stirring from those of faith or those in need. The prayer path around the chapel is a 15 minute stroll with very relevant scripture plaques at regular intervals. In my opinion this is the most soulful & inspiring things that Door County has to offer. It will become a regular trip for me.

We were visiting for week stay during the fall and made the stop while out exploring the scenic drive. The market is filled with high quality local cherry products of every kind imaginable along with freshly harvested apples and pumpkins. They have food samples out to try around each product grouping from salsas to mustards to dips. We left with a great variety of wonderful Door County items to enjoy with family and friends back home.

This was our first trip to Door County, Wisconsin. My wife and I enjoy walking, or hiking, so we decided to explore Newport State Park, on the Northeast end of the Door County peninsula. It was described as a Wilderness Park, and I would say that is an accurate statement. There are developed trails, throughout the park, including some wider paths that could be used for biking or a service vehicle, as there are several pit toilets that I'm sure need servicing, occasionally. We arrived in the morning, about 9:00 AM, and parked at parking lot P1. This was on a Tuesday, and there were approximately six cars parked at P1 on our arrival. There is a fee for parking in the Wisconsin State Parks. It can be purchased on-line and costs $38.00 for an entire year, (this is the fee for out-of-state travelers, it's less for state residents.) The state of Wisconsin will send you a sticker, for your car, within 30 days. If that's to long to wait, print out the receipt and display it on the left side of your front window dash. Back to our walk ... we noticed a "Poetry Trail" starting at the P1 parking area. Not being sure where it led or if it was a loop trial we walked down the road to P2 parking area, then found the Newport Trail and followed it along the Lake Michigan shoreline, passing Newport Bay, Sand Cove, Duck Bay and Varney Point. I had printed a map of the trails and park on-line, to help guide me. The same map was available from a kiosk, near the P1 parking area. (The kiosk was not staffed due to Covid-19.) As you proceed on the walk, you will come across a number of "wilderness campsites." A couple of these sites were being used by campers, but these are definitely "pack-in" sites, so if that was an interest, you would need to plan accordingly. Since this is a Dark Sky designated park, I would guess the stars would be amazing, there are no lights in this area. We ended up hiking a 6 mile loop route, that actually returned to P1 parking via the Rowley's Bay trail. This took us by the Poetry Trial, the one we had passed earlier, and led to P1 parking. By the way, there are Poetry Reading Stops along the Poetry Trail loop. We had packed a lunch, (sandwich, water, fruit, power bar), so we actually drove down to P3, and walked out to Lake Michigan, where we found a bench and had a beautiful view of Lake Michigan, while eating. The total time, (including eating lunch), was 4 hours. We will have to explore the trails to Europe Lake and Bay on a future trip. This was a great walk, I would definitely recommend!

Wife and I hit all of the wineries in Door County during a long weekend and without a doubt Stones a throw was our favorite. Staff was very informative, the wines were amazing and the owner was a delight.
