First impression was that stonework was clean, but read earlier review mentioning a restoration. Well done!. There were numerous little chapels on the side of the church. The glass is bright and depictions crisp. Some windows probably blown out in some war. Then there was the memorial chapel for WW1 and WW2 casualties. We were the only tourists with a couple parishioners. The organ area was under renovation or had scaffolding in the area.
For the first time, there was a series of large religious artworks displayed from the upper walls of the main section of the church. Well worth a visit and time for a prayer.

The walks along the river and canal provide great views. especially in the afternoon sunlight. There is a working lock on the canal. The streets are narrow and ancient. The public market in front of the church is out of place architecturally but is clearly a center of activity. Well worth a stop and stroll.

Louis Pasteur was born on December 27, 1822, in this house of Dole. The french chimist is renowned for his discoveries of the principles of vaccination, microbial fermentation and pasteurization. Nowadays, the birth place is a museum about the discoveries of the scientist, the works of his assistants and the story of the Pasteur Institute. And the icing on the cake, the penicillium notatum donated by Alexander Fleming in 1946.
There were a couple rooms fitted out in a home aspect. The rest of the museum was more related to his work but in a modern school style of display. It was about him but not of him. It took about 25 minutes. It was more an issue of going because we were there, and happy to have gone.

Upon entering the old hospital, I felt the history of the place. They have well taken cared of this place even when it is now a library. The center of the library felt like the energy of the old hospital is still there which is very cool!

The basement has some interesting archeology pieces and has a fascinating stone arch construction.. The modern art left me wondering how an artist commands high prices or interest. The older artworks were excellent There is room to look and stand and there were very few others. Admission was free.

As a Filipina, biking experience in our city with so much car is a chaos. But here, I felt so safe and calm. We did a turn biking and it is just a breeze to have a bike, run or walk in this place in summer because of the fresh water from the river, the fresh scent of the grass and trees plus the nice feel and sight of nature at its finest!

It is a very small church which a traveller without a local guide might miss but should not! The architecture is modern compared to its counterpart in the city. You can easily admire how it was made. A quick look should be enough but don't forget to take good pictures.
