We took our 7 year old Godson for the 4th of July holiday, abd talked about riding when we checked in. I spoke to Pam? At the stables and discussed what would be best for a leary 7 year old...she suggested the parent led ride 1st...it was PERFECT!! He rode Sadie and was excited to do another ride. So we booked for an afternoon ride for the following day and git rhe river ride. We had a large group with 4 guides. Because my God son was nervous Emily had us ride behind her. They match riders to horses and low and behold, he got Sadie again...he was ecstatic!!! What a great ride!!! Nice, slow, lots of attention and direction from guides...what a great group of ladies!! Will definitely do this again...great expense, very menorable afternoon!!!

On a recent end of summer trip to the North Georgia mountains, my sister and I visited the 12 Spies Vineyards at sunset. We brought a pre-cooked pizza from a local restaurant. The staff at the vineyard baked our pizza in a wood fired oven while we were inside sampling wines. We purchased a bottle and enjoyed it with our pizza as the sun went down. They also have live music sometimes, so definitely check their website for details.

*We are closed for the Winter through the 2nd week of March, 2018. Thanks for an amazing 2017 season! We will accept advance reservations for parties of 6 or more.* Highlands Aerial Park is one of the few ziplines designed for all ages. We offer three zipline tours and a nature trail with varying levels of adventure. The Brave Indian Challenge Course is designed for families to play together, kids and grandparents alike love this course! Our moderate Mountain Top Course is a great introduction to zipping and is perfect for those who are wanting to zip but aren't ready to commit to the full tour just yet. Our World Class Canopy Tour, with our signature Squealing Mare line, rivals some of the most exhilarating courses in the world. The Nature Trail is open to all ages and is a great way to observe both the Canopy Tour and Brave Indian Participants. With such a wide variety of activities offered there is no need for anyone to stay home so bring the family for a day of fun!
We have been to the park before and did the smaller tour with our whole family, but this time we decided on the canopy tour and it was amazing. Michael was one of our guides. He was very competent in what he was doing and made sure we had fun the whole time. Next time we come back we will request him!

Be prepared for some tight curves and steep incline to reach the top. Scary to me, but also beautiful.
The staff is so helpful and nice. The scenery is something not to miss.
I wanted to try a little fishing, went to the small lake, but they had drained it some to fix the damn I think. No fishes to be found, but totally enjoyed just the relaxation and beauty of it all.
Definitely worth the trip.

We offer Kayaking and Gem Mining on the Little Tennessee River in the Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina. Come and see nature at her best as the river takes you through the mountains and pasture lands. Our beautiful scenic trips are self-guided & guided tours are available. The trip takes approx. 2 1/2-3 hours. Get your Gem Treasure bucket and pan at our flume or take you bucket and pan the old fashion way in the river. We now offer Indian Pottery Tours. Search for Indian pottery as you kayak. This tour is approx. 6 hrs and reservation is required. We are a hidden treasure in the mountains. Family fun for all ages.
My grandchildren are now in their teens and have been coming to Primitive Outpost since they were about 5. They love the gem mining but what makkes it special are Terry and her family they are so knowledgeable and make it so exciting as they go over each stone. Then to finish off the day with a leasurely cruise down the scenic Tennessee river how cool is that? About 2 1/2 to 3 hours just perfect. I highly recommend this for a fun family day.

Our family spent the week of Christmas at Sky Valley and it could not have been a more enjoyable experience for the whole family! The condo was very comfortable with a kitchen large enough for our traditional Christmas dinner to be prepared. We enjoyed being located far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to attractions that we could visit attractions in a day trip. It was extremely cold outside, but the condo was toasty, and we even had a fire in the fireplace which made everything even cozier. Our teenage grandchildren enjoyed the exercise room, the sauna, and the hot tub. It was just a bit too cold for them to try out the pool. The beds were super comfortable! We even enjoyed hearing the Church bells! The view was good from our unit. The falls were spectacular! The staff was helpful. Will we be back? You betcha! Looking forward to returning.

A gem in plain sight. Josh and his wife Sharon just recently bought this establishment and have really brought it up to modern standards. Their variety of Amish food stuffs - AT A REASONABLE PRICE - is outstanding - AND - they are adding more every day. If they don't have what your looking for, I'm sure Josh will find a way to get it for you. Just look for the Amish Buggy out front.

Be in fair health. Cute, winding mountain trail that leads to various cabins. The first one is from 1840...it is an Irish immigrants cabin that housed 3 generations of large families. My son loved learning about the tools that people used to use in the past. It's very humbling in our comfort saturated environment to be reminded of how hard people worked the land in the past. My favorite thing was that kids could touch everything. Usually museums have everything behind windows and off limits. I really liked the active, hands on feel of the homes. The chapel was very sweet, my son loved ringing the bell.

We are a family fun center that has trout fishing, gem mining, & "summer tubing" in the spring and summer, and ice skating and snow tubing during the fall and winter.
Horrible experience at Sappire ski resort with customer service and tubing was bad. Couldn’t even get down the hills. Scaly outdoor center had a great experience, employees were helpful and making sure we were having fun. By the way the tubes flew down the mountain! Great time! Go there first you won’t be disappointed. Even if the line looks long they have a great system and it moves quick.

Just a beautiful old building that has been wonderfully updated right next to the Dillard House. Tina greeted me and provided an excellent discussion of the history of RM Rose and the process and building updating the present owner did to restart the business in this location.
I got a personal tour of the distillery room and met Mike who was responsible for equipment operation. Simply very interesting to see their process which all takes place in the back of the building. This business focuses on "attention to detail" and quality producing relatively small volumes of product. The samples provided in their tasting room were simply excellent. Whether you are a whiskey lover or not, you'll just love this place!!
