A friend of mine mentioned that she did glass blowing in Tennessee so I decided to look up a local place near Atlanta. My family was visiting from Boston so I scheduled our visit for the day after Thanksgiving. Took a little break from shopping. We arrived promptly at 1:45 and were the first few to sign in and sign a waiver. It was a large group of 26 so they wanted to keep things moving. You pick your color ornament and after a demonstration they get right to it. There were 3 instructors/stations and they were great! Walk you thru everything while explaining the process. I was #3 to go and everyone was watching! Most things you do yourself with them right by your side but the final blowing up of the ornament they do as you form it. You can choose to have a standard hanging ornament or a button so that it can sit on your mantel. After you fill out the form with your initials & color it has to cool for 2 days. So I had to go back to pick them up and will mail the ornaments to my family. We were in & out within an hour. If you're the last people to come in you'll have to wait for everyone else to go. The glass piece they have in the shop are absolutely amazing! I even picked up a few Christmas gifts before we left. You definitely need to check this place out.

Visiting Decatur’s downtown square is like going “Back to the Future”! This historic court building with its clock reminds me of the one in the movie. It sets the scene for a quaint downtown area with a lively restaurant scene, and quirky shops. Worth a visit.

As a Foodie, I was in heaven!!!This is truly an enormous international market, with fresh produce, canned and dry goods from all over the world, fresh bakery, fresh meat, seafood and cheese from every where! Fresh flowers. An elegant Fresh and fancy dessert aisle. A spice shelf as long as an ordinary grocery aisle - floor to almost ceiling, fresh dried herbs and spices at prices so low you look twice! (Example. large bag of bay leaves for 67 cents) Everything from allspice to zatar! There's a wine section, fresh made pasta of all shapes and sizes! Did I mention the fresh coffees? And an array of cooks tools...But - the crowning jewel is the self serve restaurant - a buffet line really - with hot and cold selections that will amaze you! Homemade soups, international vegetables such as spicy Chinese eggplant, miscellaneous meat, an entire aisle of cold international salad like tabouli, then several kinds of fresh made Indian Samosas, pizza, fried chicken...A dizzying array of food delights! It's wise to get it in a takeout container as you will inevitably get tooooo much and not be able to eat it all. This is a destination NOT to be missed!
