2 or 4-hour Guided And Interpreted Walking Tours Through The Centrepiece Of The Oldest Rainforest In The World.
Our guided walk with Neil was fantastic - such great knowledge and expertise. Couldn't recommend doing the guided walk with him more.

Part of Queensland Wet Tropics World Heritage area.
The Daintree National Park is huge. Technically it spans both parts of the river which you have to cross by ferry in your car. Forget a tour company - do yourself a favor and see it on your own. The roads were easy to drive and on our day trip from Port Douglas we visited Cape Tribulation (beach and lookout for over an hour - at times the only ones on this pristine beach), we hiked one of the boardwalks and was a cassowary and her baby, we visited the famous ice cream place and had amazing tropical ice cream and walked around the property looking at the trees, and we visited the lookout for views. That was a full day. We would have needed more time to see/do more in Daintree. Maybe next time we'll consider spending the night. It's where 2 UNESCO world heritage sites meet and there's plenty to do here but I recommend do it yourself by car. I watched the way the small tours operate and I would have been miserable on their prescribed highlights. One of the tours didn't even let them people but 5 minutes on Cape Tribulation beach - what a pity for them!

This Gorge is the epitome of Daintree Tropical Forest. Once inside the park, a shuttle bus takes you to the trail heads. The rain forest circuit walk is only 1.5 miles and is stuffed full of amazing plants, trees, and darting small animal. Sign on with an indigenous guide at the visitor's center, a most excellent information hub, to explain the medicinal uses of and spiritual significance of the flora you walk thru. Much of the plant life is injurious to your skin so be aware, don't touch, just look. Mooks is an indigenous guide, who will give you an unforgettable experience on many levels during your Dreamtime Walk.

We make award winning wines from Tropical Fruit and no this does not mean they are sweet and sticky. They range from very dry wines to ports and they are all commercial standard. The wines are single-fruit wines, not blends. All the fruits we use have big flavours and we grow them in the organic way and in our own orchard. The flavours of the fruits are retained in the wine.
I took a detour to this unique tropical fruit winery on the way back to Cairns after a recent weekend in Mossman/Daintree. I wish I’d done it sooner. The setting is lush and secluded, the host was lovely & very attentive and the tropical fruit wines were sensational. They have won a lot of awards at wine festivals. I’ll be back and encourage others to support this niche local business. I bought a bottle of passion fruit wine as it was my favourite on the day but I could have picked any number of others.

My wife and I arrived at the base of the trail at 1pm and after reading some of the reviews and recommendations were unsure as to whether we should attempt the climb. We are relatively fit and both on the other side of 50 but decided to give it a go. The first kilometres are relatively easy but the last two are pretty brutal. We made the platform in 1hr 20 minutes. The way down was almost as hard taking 1 hour 16 minutes. My suggestion is to climb light and with free hands as there is some rope work and scrambling. Well worth the effort.

This short circuit is on an elevated boardwalk the whole circuit and takes you deep into the forest making an easy walk. However there are quite a few steps along the way but a handrail will help if you are unstable.

Drove up to see Cape Tribulation and saw this organic ice cream place and on way back decided to pop in and taste them. What a beautiful natural ice cream and beautiful gardens to sit and enjoy. I had black sapote that had hint of chocolate taste and my partner had Daintree Rainforest which was very exotic tasting

The Daintree River Ferry is a cable ferry that crosses the famous Daintree River. It provides sealed-road access to the northern section of the Daintree National Park, Cape Tribulation and allows people to travel onwards to Cape York via the Bloomfield Track. It is the only cable ferry operating within tropical Australia and is situated some 50 kilometres north of Port Douglas. The ferry is is operated by a commercial contractor on behalf of the Douglas Shire Council. It carries a maximum of 27 vehicles and takes about five minutes to cross the river. The Daintree Ferry operates continuously between 5am and midnight, daily.
Went on a return trip on the car ferry when we drove up to Cape Tribulation. Buying ticket was easy, couple of minutes wait for the ferry, quick trip across and same in reverse trip. Signs everywhere on the ferry tell you not to get out of your car - so take your pics from inside ????
