We offer a True Marsh Adventure in South Louisiana fishing.. Light tackle fishing for "Cajun Bonefish" Redfish and Trout "Specks" in the marsh estuaries of coastal Louisiana, your experience begins as we navigate the inner marshes seeing natural habitats in various waterfowl to many sea life. Our fishing can be done is shallow marshes to the edge of our coastline.
We had always wanted to go fishing in the Louisiana marshes.
We met Chad early one morning, loaded up and set off in the marshes for a fun day of fishing. When we arrived at our first spot, Chad set up all gear, which he provided, baited our hooks and showed up what to do. Before long,we we experiencing the thrill of catching red fish. We rode through the marshes, each time to find the perfect spot. We had a great catch. So fun riding in the marshes and seeing the beautiful scenery. We're definitely amateurs, but Chads knowledge and patience really helped us have a great day.

Do you want to see Cajun Louisiana as it still exists today? Program your smart phone for Pointe-Aux-Chenes Wildlife Refuge and drive all the way to the very end of driveable Louisiana. One of the local residents in this isolated area told us there are even more isolated settlements on some low lying areas only accessible by boat, but we were happy just having driven to the end of the road.
When you start this drive, you are driving by charming houses along a bayou/canal, and at some point you find that it has turned into Gulf waters on both sides of the tiny little spit you are on, and the houses are built high on stilts.
Take a side drive into Point-Aux-Chiens tribal area, where subsistence fishing, oystering, shrimping and hunting are still major occupations, then back to 665 to drive all the way to the little pier at the end of the road where you can watch eagles soaring, egrets hunting, mullet jumping, porpoises frolicking and some small marsh ponies cropping across the bayou. If you can get there around sunset (have your insect repellant handy), the light is gorgeous and all this activity is happening at once. It is a feast for the eyes and for the senses, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

We booked the small airboat- there were 6 of us on it & that was a perfect number. We were so glad we did that when we saw the hundreds of other people pull up and load into the bigger boats. Our guide was great- I think his name was Brandon or Brennan (or something with a B). He grew up in the swamps and had a healthy respect and love for the area. He shared stories of the area, of the flora and fauna, the alligators, birds, fish and other wildlife. He did not lure any alligators with meat/marshmallows or the sort- all the gators he spotted were out sunning. I was impressed with his tour & the info he shared. It was a pricey tour but we are glad we booked it and got to see some of Louisiana's natural beauty outside of city.

The sculpture garden is definitely off the beaten path but it's worth the drive. It's filled with amazing one-of-a-kind pieces that deserve to be better known than they are.
The visitor's center and the parking lot are across the street from the garden in a blue house. Inside the visitor's center there is a restroom and a small art gallery that showcases art from local artists.

Was good to see a number of local crocodiles. We would of preferred more information about area, what makes it special, more about crocodiles and other species and plants in area. Tour is geared towards entertaining visitors so if you go to sea world and zoo's this is tour for you. Was a bit expensive but relative to other tours in area.

This is a real gem of the bayous! Stumbled across this place while staying at the Holiday Inn Express. Saw a brochure and decided to give it a go! Was I surprised! This is a real Cajun family of Hoodoo workers dating back over 100 years! This place is everything is promises to be! I can't say enough good stuff. The owners are a fountain of knowledge and some of the most uncanny readers I have ever experienced!

We took the small airboat with Captain Chip and had a wonderful time. He is knowledgeable and passionate about the condition of the ecosystem and was able to explain what has happened over time (naturally and human-caused) and what is being done currently that will affect the waterways. Captain Chip was funny and quite skilled as a captain (THAT GATE!!! I'm still in disbelief!!). We got up close and personal with a gator and that was quite amazing. Well worth the trip.

Our museum is dedicated to the brave men and women throughout our country’s history who have defended our great nation, at home and abroad. The goal of the Regional Military Museum is to commemorate their sacrifices made in behalf of all Americans – past, present, and future. Please visit our website to learn more or stop in for a visit.
The Regional Military Museum exemplifies the Military Pride and Traditions of this area of Louisiana. From the engraved bricks of regional veterans to the personal pride of the volunteer dolcents, who lived the military histroy, military service is honored.
There is a small static exhibit of military equipment but the personal history is in the personable tours. Outstanding! This is a great regional tribute to the 1% of Americans that often made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom.
I've been visiting in Houma for the past six years and the Military Museum continues to improve each year. Take the guided tour.
