We had a hoot looking at the different presentations from the various artists who contribute to this cooperative art gallery. There are many styles and types of art which kept us motivated due to the changing “landscapes”. We luckily found a present for someone who is usually very hard to please. Certainly worth a visit. At Wacky Bird Gallery, artist Christine Upton, allows you to experience a wide selection of her quality artwork and then she can show you through the studios out the back to view the work being developed at the time of your visit. Well known Fibre Artist Barbara Pritchard will be the Artist in Residence at Wacky Bird Gallery from December 27 to Jan 8 (closed Jan 3 & 4). Barbara lives near Walwa in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Her work reflects a love of natural fibre textiles and fascination with the process of dyeing with natural dyes. Barbara uses eco-friendly traditional and contemporary dyeing techniques to transfer colour and eco prints from nature onto varied weights of silk and woollen fabric with leaves, berries, bark and seeds from the land on which she lives.
Saw an advert in the local paper for the Wacky Bird Gallery and very happy we visited. Christine explained the process to produce her magnificent works of art. Very appealing works and something for everyones taste. Murray River appeal in the art.

Housed in the old Border Brass Band Hall the Federation Museum showcases the History of Corowa Community and the surrounding district and has a comprehensive display of old machinery and household items. The story of Corowa's Role in the Australian Federation Movement is told with an excellent display of artifacts and news items including a Federation Timeline and the significance of the Corowa Conference of 1893. The Museum has a informative display outlining the local connection with Tom Robert's iconic painting "Shearing the Rams". Other notable displays are the sketches by aboriginal artist Tommy McRae and the Wilmot Pharmaceutical Collection.
This museum deals both with the push for Federation in the late 19th century, as well as the social history of the town. Apart from its clear and straightforward account of Federation, along with many interesting and rare documents, the museum shows farming equipment, old pharmacy utensils, different ways of cooking, etc. Extremely stimulating, and staffed by very friendly, committed people.
