To think this underground home was hand dug by 3 women in the 60's & 70's was mind-blowing. The home is as Faye left it all those years ago with original furnishings and decor. Following a brief history given to us by Grant, the property caretaker, we were able to walk through at our leisure. We were offered a tour of Faye's mine on the property at a small additional cost. Well worth it. Grant's commentary was informative and gave a great understanding of what this amazing lady achieved during her time in Coober Pedy. Would highly recommend it!

I am an on/off local of Coober Pedy for 25+ years and this is the only place I take tourists to for a quick look if they are short on time. Take your time on the tour; read the signs, look at the faults in the wall and read the history in the museum area. A very easy place to lose track of time for a few hours!

Josephine's Gallery is a 'MUST SEE' whilst in Coober Pedy. Wander through the impressive ABORIGINAL ART GALLERY, play a DIDGERIDOO, choose a beautiful OPAL from our extensive range or KISS A KANGAROO. Our passion is raising orphaned kangaroos and we offer you the opportunity to see these amazing creatures up close and maybe even hold a baby. Feeding times daily at 12 noon and 5:30pm. Don't be late!
Local art, baby kangaroos and the most lovely owners. This place deserves a visit, if only to chat to the owners and hear all they do for the injured wildlife around here. Great work.

An Underground church named after the Catacombs in Rome. A place of serenity where week by week we tell others the great news that Jesus still forgives sin for those who seek him.
Nice experience visiting this underground church in Coober Pedy. Loved the structure & cool climate inside. Fascinating information provided by our Oasis tour guide. Was so interesting that I forgot to take pictures!

This tour was part of our Ghan Expedition and was outstanding. We were given a tour of the old mine and underground home by Dimitrios who had so much knowledge of opal mining and the history, having been personally involved for many years. He was a class act and we were astounded when he realised we had two deaf participants on our tour and he noticed this and signed personally for them for the whole of the tour. What an impressive man. So caring and compassionate. We salute you Dimitrios.

The Breakaways and driving the circuit are a definite must while in Coober Pedy. Magnificent formations and geological delights, coupled with the indigenous stories and the history of the Dingo fence make this a special excursion. Great at any time, but especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset - but take the Aeroguard!

As we approached the property we were met with 3 witches hats and a Great Dane barking at us. Not to be deterred we approach and the dog turned out to be super friendly to the point that he became our tour guide. It turns out the dog is owned by the caretaker who rarely makes an appearance. There is an honor box inside the entrance and that's it. You are free to wander through Harry's home at your leisure. This dugout has some weird and wacky displays and after reading more about Crocodile Harry they were no real surprise. Definitely worth a look as I can't say I have seen anything else like it on my world travels!
