Great track. Greens were a little hard but ran true. This course is a thinking man's track that makes you think about both tee shots and approach shots. In great shape and enjoyed the day!

We stopped in for a tasting and Maria (co-owner) gave us an in-depth history of the winery. We tasted 5 wines and were there for about an hour. Much more relaxed than in Ontario wineries. We really enjoyed the wine and the personal touch. Highly recommended. This winery, like all others, is not a suitable place for children. They`ll become very easily bored.

A Lavender Farm and Winery in the Southern Cowichan Valley offers a wine tasting room, gift shop, vineyard, gardens, picnic areas. 45 minute drive from Downtown Victoria
Lovely farm and winery in the cowichan valley within an hour of Victoria. Most of the lavender had been harvested by late August but there were still remnants around. The grape vines were getting heavy on the vine ready to be harvested. The staff was friendly and the tastings were delicious. The shop had lots of selection to choose from.

This small family vineyard have wines with a big personality just like their owners. You can tell that these wine makers love what they do, it really shows in their wines. On the wine tour we took they were the ones too beat, but none did. They also make real balsamic vinegar. Not what you buy in the store but the real thing. They can tell you all about it as it’s way over my head. They also make absolutely delicious jams. We left there with a bag full of wine, balsamic vinegar and fig and balsamic vinegar jam. It was the hem of the Cowichan Valley. Make a reservation!

Merridale is a delicious destination in Cowichan —an apple orchard, craft cider house, small batch distillery, and wedding/event venue. Join us for a cider and spirits tasting; savour farm to table cuisine in our eatery; fresh baked goods made from cider leaven in our bakery; discover our traditional cider and spirits methods on our tours; stroll the orchard while your kids search for the mystical faeries rumoured to live here; shop in our farm store for unique artisan wares; relax in our lounge with cocktails, cider and spirit flights, and appetizers for pairing; overnight in a yurt or book a wedding/event. Open daily. Visit our website for hours and special events, like Sunday pizza nights and Christmas at the farm!
Visited Merridale on a beautiful sunny day with my two teenagers in reluctant tow. We were all charmed by the place. The people working were welcoming and knowledgeable. The buildings of the cidery and distillery had a classic, rustic feel. The orchard was gorgeous and peaceful to stroll around. I enjoyed learning about the cider making process on the walking tour. More recently, Merridale has gone into making other spirits like brandy and gin and it was interesting to learn about this process too. For younger children they have a fairy hunt to keep them entertained. The little fairy spots were fun for us to find as well and added to the charm of Merridale. We had lunch at the eatery along with having a flight of ciders each. The teens enjoyed trying their non-alcoholic flight - the lavender was unique and refreshing. I had the new world flight and enjoyed them all. Loved that cider and the other spirits were incorporated into the food menu items! The pulled pork with cider slaw and pear brandy bbq sauce was delicious! It was a treat to sit on their open air patio and look at the orchards while we sipped our ciders and ate our meals. Would like to book an overnight stay sometime in the yurts. I had heard great things about their pizza nights and picnics so will definitely have to return!
