The 10 Best Things to Do in Clearwater, United States

March 28, 2018 Veronika Gaddis

Home to some of the best beaches in America, Clearwater is a great family beach destination. Sure, it’s in Florida, but it’s not Giant Rodent Florida (a.k.a. Orlando) or Crazy Spring Break Florida (a.k.a. Fort Lauderdale). Rather, it’s Calm, Old-Fashioned Florida… which is something worth seeing. Oh, and the weather’s outstanding.

Clearwater Beach

With hundreds of things to do on Clearwater Beach, the main attraction is still pretty much its near-perfect beach (USA Today readers voted Clearwater Beach "Best Beach Town in Florida" in 2013). Beautiful white sand and clear, shallow water make this beach an ideal playground for families.

What a great venue for small concerts. This was our second Tribute Band concert and both have been an outstanding value. First one was Fleetwood Max which my wife and I extremely enjoyed and now this one "the Sounds of Soul" was an equal treat. Orchestra Seating is only $24.50 ea and we were 3rd row center. If your visiting or a resident, you have to check this venue out! Can't wait for the next show.

Clearwater Beach

Reviewed By nnmercman - Camberley, United Kingdom

This long stretch of beach is divided by Pier 60 - the southern end is usually more crowded due to the sheer number of hotels and holiday apartments - the northern side has mainly private villas and apartments. Plenty of places to hire cabanas/loungers etc as well as water sports. Beach is kept clean (we noticed a tractor pulling a beach raker) and with it’s powder white sand and clear waters it’s a great place to relax - numerous cafes and beach bars are dotted all along. Parking is either on street ($1.25ph - coin/pre paid card/app only), beach lots ($2.50ph - card/coin/app payment) or best of all is a parking garage on corner of Ponsettia/Baymont St on northern side of Causeway Blvd roundabout ($2ph). Even though it was Spring Break when we visited there was still parking spaces available. Pier 60 is great to wander along at any time of day and there’s a small information shack at the entrance where you can pick up ideas of places to visit in the area.
