At an elevation of 1,282 feet, Sugarloaf stands more than 800 feet above Maryland's scenic farmland below.
I went hiking here recently with some friends. I thought it was an enjoyable hike. I think we ended up hiking about seven miles or so. We switched between trails a couple times, so it was hard to tell for sure. I didn't feel like the trail markings were great, so it was helpful that we were able to use GPS to navigate thanks to the availability of cell phone signal. There was a little bit of uphill, but not much. According to my phone, we topped out at a little over 900'. There wasn't much for views, kin fortunately, probably due to the low elevation. Still, it was a nice walk in the woods, and I was surprised to find that nice a hike that close to D.C.

I golfed in the afternoon on May 15th and the course was in very good shape. Tee boxes are well maintained and line up well with the landing areas. The fairways are in excellent shape and sets up nicely for the second shot. The rough isn't too bad, but it does take a firm shot to get out. Sand traps are prolific on this course and are well maintained. The greens are FAST and quite a few are sloped and undulating. I hope the greens improve as the season goes on, some are splotchy. Range balls are included in the green fee; a chipping practice area is well stocked with balls too; the practice putting green was somewhat small and crowded, but we had no trouble getting in some practice. The staff at the club house was courteous and they get you on your way very fast. Do yourself a favor and trust the information on the GPS (included on cart) and the layout on the scorecard, this course doesn't always reward the long ball. This is a great course with challenging greens and nice scenery. My only two criticisms: the pace of play is slow, took us over 5 hours to play 18 and our cart lost power after 13 holes and finally died on hole 18. I will definitely be back to play this course now that I know how the holes should be played. Side note - I left a wedge somewhere on the course and it was turned in to the clubhouse THANKS

it was very cold and windy when we visited here. We saw a movie at the AMC Theaters and had delicious dinner at the Copper Canyon Grill Restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed both places.
Other attractions/places to visit here: Shops like Target and Dick's, smaller shops, restaurants, man-made lake, etc.
We'll definitely visit here again when the weather becomes warmer: eat at other restaurants, shop, and just walk around the lake.

It is only opened from Thursdays to Saturdays. They are closed for the other days of the week.
My favorites are the store that sells pretzels and the other one that sells nuts, candies and chocolates. The pretzels are freshly baked at the store. I like most their plain pretzels and the one with sausage and cheese that cost $3 each. This store only takes CASH while the candy/nut store accepts major credit cards.
Some stores sell fried chicken, meats, vegetables and fruits, furnitures, etc. There is a small restaurant inside the building that serves American dishes.
Highly recommended to visit if you're in the area.

this is really nice trail. You can jog; bike, hike or just take a walk. There is a nice trail around the lake. You see nature at its best. On a sunny afternoon you can check out the turtles sunning themselves. there are lots of birds for bird lovers.

Now open: Clarksburg Premium Outlets is conveniently located right off on I-270 in Montgomery County, Maryland, just 30 miles north of Washington, D.C. and 50 miles west of Baltimore.
When a foreigner goes to an outlet mall he/she expects to see outlet prices and not regular store prices. This plsce was a real DISAPPOINTMENT. The price and sales are the same as regular stores. They use the name outlet just get buyers to come but I doubt that many buy anything. People had little or no packages in hand. I wouldn't waste my time on this place and definitely not recommend it to others.

My family has been coming to Butler's to pick berries since the 1990s. It was our favorite farm to pick berries, starting the season with strawberries and ending it with raspberries. Last year we've missed the season. When we finally were back this year we were shocked to learn about the $3 admission fee per person. I was so upset with the new policy that we decided to turn around and drive to another farm. Other people seem to be also shocked but quite a few paid the fee. I understand that the berry picking has become very popular in the last few years. I doubt that in the long run this policy will bring extra income to the farm. Last year, the year when the fee was introduced, may not be a good indicator -- people showed up as they used to and they paid. Many won't be back. Fewer and fewer customers will be back. I WILL NOT BE BACK.
