Nestled within Faust Park and a division of the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Butterfly House was the first stand-alone insectarium to be accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. Open year-round, the 8,000 sq foot Tropical Conservatory is the heart of the Butterfly House. Its carefully controlled environment houses nearly 2,000 tropical butterflies in free flight. As many as 80 butterfly species and 150 tropical plant species are exhibited. The Exhibit Hall is where you'll find Small Wonders, a living exhibit focusing on various other invertebrates. The outdoor Native Butterfly Garden is a pollinator-friendly demonstration garden. Plants were carefully selected to provide a habitat for the pollinators and other animals in Faust Park as well as to serve as host plants for caterpillars and nectar sources for butterflies. The Native Butterfly Garden provides a favorite setting for education programs, wedding ceremonies, and other private event celebrations.
Our grandkids aged 4 and 7 loved the place. The variety and quantity of the butterflies are amazing and held the kids attention and they were thrilled to have one land on their head. The plant life is great, and overall it is a wonderful place to take the kids so they can enjoy themselves.

This park just keeps getting better with age. It’s a beautiful place for a casual stroll or power walk, full of lovely native plants and wildflowers. Lots if people have taken to fishing during these slow days of the pandemic. The Parks Department takes excellent care of the area. A real asset in the burbs.

Marcus Chesterfield 14 with Ultrascreen DLX and Superscreen DLX. What a wonderful theater with history to the WEHRENBERG legacy of over 100 years in the St Louis Area. This Ultrascreen DLX is what I visited it is nearly identical to Dolby Cinema however AMC owns the Dolby Cinema trademarks in North America. The screen was curved like an IMAX screen and about as wide. Not as tall as IMAX as IMAX has exclusive rights to the 26% more picture. The overall experience was fantastic. It’s the 3 S’s Screen ( it’s massive) Seats (dream loungers will make you so comfortable you won’t want to leave) and Sound ( Dolby Atoms In all its glory to bring you arguably the best sound in Cinema) . One observation was just how gigantic the Auditorium was that housed the Ultrascreen DLX. It reminds me of the big city (like NYC 80s 90s) Cinemas that have only one screen. I was pleasantly surprised that this gem of a cinema has been so close and I am just now discovering it. I will be back and look forward to many more premier night blockbusters.

The attractions at Faust Park (butterfly house, and carousel) are somehow associated with the Missouri Botanical Garden. My wife and I went to an event this week, and the outdoor gardens were simply fabulous. Free, and beautiful the gardens reminded me of a walk through butterfly habitat. Free and wonderful, with a lot of parking. Totally accesible to wheelchairs.
