My husband and I brought our two year old here today after searching for family friendly wineries in the East Bay. What a great find! Ken was managing the tasting room when we arrived, and welcomed the three of us warmly. We tried a wide variety of wines and went home with a couple of bottles. We particularly liked their sparkling and ports, and their hospitality was so lovely. During our visit the winery owners returned, and introduced our son to their dog and showed him the chicken coop. He was in heaven. Growing up, my parents went wine tasting and would take me to some tasting rooms that I remember fondly. Sometimes it feels like that era is gone, but today’s visit to Westover really reminded me of those happy days. Go taste some delicious things and meet some great folks.

This place is really fun. Parking is easy. It is very well kept and everything is clean and maintained. The two 18 hole putt putt courses are varied and interesting with some simple and some hard holes. You can bring food and eat at the covered picnic tables. We had an enjoyable time.

We went to Lake Chabot Regional Park. This is a nice lake park with marina. One can go fishing. They plant rainbow trout. For example 2/27 they planted 750 pounts of rainbow trout from Mt. Lassen Area. There is a marina and one can go boating on the large lake. There is a good picnic area. In addition there is a lake cafe. There is also an exercise course. Its a very large park wth lots of place to hike as well. Parking is $5.

Before noon, the games cost $1.50 per person and our group bought several games for that price ( even though our games lasted until late afternoon). Great pricing! It really encouraged us to spend some quality time there. The snack bar is some sort of 3rd person enterprise and has never been open while we've ever been there. However, the menu sounds great. Additionally, there is a bar inside. From past experiences, we've often taken a lunch break and gone to a Chinese Food place in the mall and returned to bowling. During our family visits, this is a win-win for us all. Very clean, safe, fun, reasonably priced.
