Considered one of the country's premier golf resorts, this complex offers three championship courses (Blue, Gold and Red), two of which were designed by renowned architect, Robert Trent Jones.
My family and I chose to stay at the historical wigwam over a long weekend while we attended a wedding (not at the Wigwam. We arrived and were immediately welcomed and directed to concierge and front desk. All staff were very friendly and professional. Ya gals hung out by the HEATED pool and were served drinks and snacks poolside while the boys went golfing at one of the resorts courses. The rooms are VERY spacious and clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Bathrooms are large and nicely updated. The grounds are very well kept and picture perfect. We saw a wedding going on in a private garden area while we were there- it looked very beautiful and like a great place to tie the know. We enjoyed dinner at a couple of the restaurants there and breakfast in the cafe. My husband also received a massage and a haircut in the salon while we were there. All a good experience for us!

Inside the Verrado community. They have 2 courses the old Raven is now called the Founders Course and they also have a brand new course called the Victory. The Founders course is nicely managed, Good desert course with nice views and homes set back. Challenging fairways but most are a bit wider with nicely placed nooks and crannies. Bunkers well placed, only landed in 1. Do bring some extra balls. This is a top notch course you will enjoy, something for the master golfer and the duffer or in between golfer. Enjoy the day, it has great views. Just don't walk into the desert areas too much, some of the growths suck up your golf balls. Love the mango very icey cold towels that feel great on a warm day. And the cart lady Margie was right there with the ice, refreshments and eats. Nice pro shop and restaurant. Much easier to get a tee time this time of year. Finished in under 4 hours. Great day out here. Our favorite in the west valley.

It was a very slow ride getting into the park. Then once you passed the gate, the Festival iwas almost 4 more miles on the road. The parking lot appeared to be full because people were parking on the road. We were very optimistic and found a great spot right near the first booth. There were very many beautiful artisans at this fair. The jewelry was gorgeous but out of my price range. There were many great craf ideas. It had just the right amount of booths with a nice selection for food choices. The best part of the fair was free entry. It’s a nice thing to do on the weekend. There was live music provided free.

Beautiful ride with amazing guides! The route took about 1 hour, they helped teach a few of the basic riding skills to help make the ride comfortable. The horses were all rescues and very sweet and social- I highly recommend visiting then for a ride!

Great heart pumping adrenaline rush as a driver in car by yourself. Only complaint I have is the ear pieces. Should use ear buds in the canal you can put in before putting helmet on. Instead of foam pads you have to jam up inside somehow on a very snug helmet. Both of us had to come back in to readjust so could hear instructions. Still great afternoon with good classroom prep.

Most people travel between Buckeye and Gila Bend, Arizona, on route MC 85. The road less traveled is Old US Highway 80, accessed just south of Buckeye by turning right off of MC 85 onto W. Hazen Rd. and then left on S. Wilson Ave, though there are alternate routes of access as well. You'll wind through a rich dairy and agricultural area, passing through tiny hamlets. After passing through Arlington, you'll soon arrive at the magnificent Gillespie Bridge. Built in 1926, it rises like a great rusting leviathan out of the tranquil waters of the Gila River, and was part of the historic 'ocean to ocean highway' that offered a southerly year round route between the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. 1,660 feet long, it was once the largest steel structure in the state. As you cross the bridge, you'll see the Gillespie Dam; precursor to the bridge, it was completed in 1921, and stretches across the Gila like some old broken, Roman aqueduct. Park your car on the SE side of the bridge. It's an easy hike to the dam where you'll enjoy the vistas and the river teeming with fish and fowl. This is a wonderful day-trip from anywhere in the Phoenix metro area. If you're driving from Phoenix to Yuma, it’s a great alternative route. You won't regret taking the road less traveled.

Since 1964, Phoenix International Raceway has been the premier motorsports venue in the Southwest. Founded as an open-wheel racing mecca, PIR was proud to host the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix Verizon IndyCar Series race under the lights in April. Phoenix is the only track in the West to feature two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekends a year, beginning with the Good Sam 500 race weekend in March. The schedule is anchored by the upcoming Can-Am 500 race weekend in November, the semifinal race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup after which the field will be reduced to the final four championship contenders.
My first visit to this track resulted in witnessing one of the best races of the season. While we did arrive very early, the traffic control put in place was running smoothly. Getting around inside the track was easy. Good variety of places to view the race. Friendly personnel. I hope to return someday.

The admission seemed a little expensive and then all the rides any attractions cost an additional $6 per person. Lots of animals to see though. Worth going at least once and good for kids of all ages.
Giraffe enclosure was the hi-lite for sure. Make sure to bring change for food. I think it took quarters.

Take a leisurely guided horseback ride through the desert beauty of the White Tank Regional Park on friendly, safe horses led by entertaining and knowledgeable guides.
We greatly enjoyed our experience. Our guides Hannah and Becca were kind and knowledgeable. The horses were great, and the trail was relatively easy. We did an afternoon two-hour ride. The scenery was gorgeous and we got plenty of great photos. The location is quite a drive from Phoenix (over an hour) but the experience was worthwhile.

Goodyear Ballpark is the Spring Training and player development home of the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds.
This place makes me embarrassed to be a Reds fan! At the ticket office on Sat. (3/17) afternoon, the printer that prints the tickets and receipts wasn't working. Then come the crusty retirees, working as volunteers are certainly not impressive representatives of the team. Then we get to the concession stands, where they might be manned by service groups or employees that could not care less. The lines from about the 2nd inning until games end are always way too long. BUT!! the most ridiculous thing that happened to us over 3 days was not one day did the concession stand have Cincinnati Chili Cheese Coneys (Skylines) becuase they didn't have buns. I am not kidding! it was as if no one knew where to buy buns. AND! for 2 days, they left the item on the menu board, infuriating customers that had waited for 2 or 3 innings on account of the unqaulified help - only to discover they were out of the queen city headline item. A few years ago, they offered a lo-end valu beer (PBR) at all the stand; but, that seems to have been just too fan friendly as they've dropped cheaper beers. Even the landscaping is half *ss ! this place has been open for a decade and as you walk up they have a dirt rock area greeting fans. The Reds - and likelt the Indians, who share this pit, and city of goodyear rely on fans from legit parks like the giants and cubs to come to Goodyear where you can always get a ticket.
