Hokie fans are the best. The stadium is always packed and full of excitement. Get there early for the team entrance tradition of fans jumping to Enter Sandman. Read up on the clear bag rules.

The Hahn Horticulture Garden is a 6-acre teaching and display garden on the campus of Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA; open from dawn to dusk, 365 days/year. The garden features perennial borders, water gardens, shade gardens, a meadow garden, and the Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion (and plants, of course. Lots of plants.) Visit us in all seasons - to relax, enjoy, learn, and grow! Make sure to obtain a VT Visitor parking pass before parking at the garden. Also available for rentals, check out our website for more details - http://www.hort.vt.edu/hhg/.
Located on the VA Tech campus, this almost 6 acre site is open from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year (not fenced in). While it doesn't take too long to meander through the property, it is certainly worth (it's free) doing if you're in the area. There are a number of plant "displays:" conifers, annuals, perennials, and a xeriscape garden, among others. The "stream garden," with koi and goldfish, is very attractive.
There is a very nice "Garden Guide" (map) available for you to pick up.

Wonderful tour lead by a guide who took his time to answer all the questions and give a great deal of background on the family. If one is spending time in Virginia, the I formation on this family will crop-up again and againot. They were so much a part of Virginia history you from beforeign the revolution to the 20 century.
Lovely house.

This is a great space for taking family while visiting campus. They have a constantly changing gallery and many performances during the semester. The auditorium is massive and perfect for opera, they also have smaller venues for technical performances.

We enjoy the Lyric and go often. Free popcorn on Mondays! Low prices for good movies, often great movies just a few weeks after their first run in larger venues. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Plus feeling the history of Blacksburg in the lovely decor....MoreThank you so much for the wonderful review. We truly appreciate your support!

A farm brewery about one mile outside of town in Blacksburg, VA. The taproom is located within a barn, with sheltered and open-air seating. The brewery space is shared with several small businesses under one rood, including Glade Road Growing Farm and Tabula Rasa Farm Kitchen. We are a family-friendly and pet-friendly environment! Live music is hosted every weekend. Brewery serves tastings, pints on site and growler fills to-go. Tabula Rasa serves farm-to-table fare whenever the brewery is open with a seasonal, chalkboard menu. Food is available by cash only; Rising Silo Brewery accepts cash or credit.
Rising Silo is 1.5 from my house- plan on walking or riding a bike back for a second visit. Love love love the rural farm setting, open air barn area, outdoor fire pit, view of the mountains and some of their livestock. Just a cool place.
Unique mix of people- different backgrounds and ages, not just college kids. I am not a fan of beer so I was happy to see they had ginger beer and kombucha. I get sick of drinking water at breweries.
I didn't have any food and don't think I will. The price of a small personal size flat bread pizza was almost $13.00.
Love that pups are welcome!

The Alexander Black House isn't huge, but it's well worth a visit. It's restored to period decor (that wallpaper!) and has changing exhibits. When I went there was a fascinating exhibit on the history and regional ties of the banjo. There's also information about Alexander Black and the founding of Blacksburg and a cute little gift shop.

This is a well done and respectful memorial remembering the fallen. I would not make a special trip to see it unless you are already visiting the campus. I think it is more for those who have a personal connection.

Title says everything. It is on the Huckleberry trail. You can stop by and you will have seen it all in a glimpse of an eye. Or did I just miss something?
