Museum exhibiting life in Spindletop during the first oil boom.
Historical 1900's town pays tribute to the Spindletop gusher oil well -- largest gusher in the world at that time. The well started Texas on the trail to becoming oil country. The population of Beaumont went from 10,000 to 50,000 practically overnight. This is a...MoreThank you for your positive review. We are happy you enjoyed your visit and let others know about it.

The Fire Museum of Texas is housed in the historic 1927 Central Fire Station for the City of Beaumont. View interactive exhibits for the entire family that trace the history of the fire service in the state of Texas. Our exhibits explore equipment, trucks and fire fighting methods from the mid-1800s to the present. Perhaps one of the most comprehensive fire museums in the nation our exhibits feature a 1856 Howle Hand Drawn Tub Pumper, a 1909 Ladder Truck and a 1931 REO Light Truck - the first of its kind in the entire world. An interactive Fire Safety House allows children to practice escaping from a house fire.
I didn't go to the museum. I just came for the Roadside America Dalmatian fire hydrant attraction! Most definitely worth the stop! So much so that when we came through for our Florida trip we stopped again to bring my eight year old niece. She loved it. So did the teens in the car who didn't want to stop.

Wildlife and Alligator Adventure Park. Home of the legendary "BIG AL" at 13'4" and now introducing "Big Tex" at 13'8.5" largest live alligator capture in the world.
This place provides an unusual educational experience. The owner is extremely passionate about these animals and lives to pass on his knowledge. A must see while in the area.

Beautiful and peaceful but because the indoor area is like a walk-through terrarium, it's very warm and humid. The water features and small bridge add to it's beauty. The lush indoor garden area provides exceptional picture taking opportunities. A must-see especially for those who live in Southeast Texas and those who enjoy the peace and tranquility of walking through areas of lush green foliage.

If it is a Hot Day/ like in the 90 degree mark, Skip It because you will literally MELT.....But it is so Awesome to play on. And they do have Snacks and Lunch time items! The put put is the only part that is outside where it's a great way to have Fun only if the weather cooperates with you. The humidity in this town is Awful....which makes it miserable and seem hotter than it normally is. Use Sun Screen!!! The rest of the place is inside and Air Conditioned which is a big Yeah. It may be more of something you can do in the evening's so that you will for sure Love this Place... Jewell

We went to the Jefferson Theatre to see the Goo Goo Dolls play. What a beautiful Theatre. Beautiful outside and the inside decoration was amazing. Jefferson is a throw back to times gone by. Very comfortable seating. Easy access. Lots of parking. Sadly, not a lot else going on in Beaumont.

Located in downtown Beaumont, Texas, just beyond the bustling traffic of Interstate 10, people find a Texas-sized surprise whent they visit the Art Museum of Southeast Texas. There's always so much to see with rotating art exhibits, exciting educational activities and fun-filled family events. AMSET's exhibitions focus on 19th through 21st Century American fine and folk art with an emphasis on regionalism. Open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
The museum was a bit smaller than I expected, however we found it interesting. There was a variety of displays with interesting paintings and other art works. We found Felix "Fox" Harris, the artist what creates art from recycled material and scrap metal very interesting.
There was no charge, but a request for donations at the door ( $5/adult, $2(?) child)

Located in Beaumont, TX, Parkdale Mall features more than 150 specialty stores such as Buckle, Aeropostale, Hot Topic, Justice, and PacSun as well as Sears, Dillards, Macy's and JCPenney.
Great Mall for just spending the day with teenagers! I feel safe letting them go off on their own for an hour or so, then check back in with me! But most of the time we walk around together, or enjoy a meal or snack in the Food Court! Lots of great stores, Maurice's, H&M, JC Penney and Sephora, and the list goes on!
