The only community owned and operated motor museum in Australia, we are dedicated towards preserving the history of Australian and world motoring vehicles in our heritage listed museum in York, Western Australia. We are also the home of the "Never Never Tours" Valiant ute used in the movie "Crocodile Dundee" and autographed by Paul Hogan on the dashboard.
This museum in York highstreet is the place to go if you are a classic car enthusiast. It has something of interest for most age groups and some old cars, carriages and motorbikes. Quite a trip down memory lane!

A group of 50 seniors visited new Norcia today on a day trip organized by Hello World, Alexander Heights. I have wanted to visit for 45 years and it has taken Covid restrictions for me to visit our own back yard. It is the only Monastic town in Australia and its history is extremely interesting. The old historical buildings have a beautiful architectural style and there are three beautiful churches with beautiful paintings in them. One almost like a mini Sistine Chapel. Being less that two hours from Perth it is an interesting drive through farming country, and you see the DISK as you drive up. Actually I would even recommend it for a weekend stay in the excellent hotel that they have there. Our meal was excellent on a beautiful laid tables, and tea served in the most colorful cup and pots. Reasonably priced I would recommend that as many people from Western Australia consider visiting, and even spending a weekend there. Stop at the Bindoon bakery on your drive there. I certainly will be doing it. David Schokman.

We went up to the lookout during the day and the panoramic view of York, Avon Valley, Mount Bakewell and the surrounds was just beautiful. Worth a visit.

Marvellous complex to visit and take a step back in time and view the cells, stables, machinery shed, etc. Great exhibits with cells displaying law & order, living in Toodyay, Dorizzi Brothers Memorial Cell, Native Cell, Trades & Textiles and Moondyne Joe, perhaps West Australia's most fames or notorious felon. The stables house a collection of wagons and a fire cart plus various items of horse tack. The machinery shed was constructed in 1962 to house various agricultural machinery. The Wicklow Shearing Shed is a reproduction of the shed that existed on the Wicklow Hills property and was constructed with materials largely salvaged from the old shed. The gaol dates to 1865 and became a private residence upon its closure in 1907 through to the 1940's. Special mention of Barry, the volunteer extraordinaire on the day for his enthusiasm and knowledge.

Avonbrook Wines is a gem and deserving of many more reviews than the 8 preceding mine. We had a number of recommendations to visit the property and a visit on the Sunday seemed ideal. Nice drive from Tooday and finally arrived at the great bush location. Happy greeting from the proprietor, a range of topics discussed as we sampled some wines and finally ordered the platter. We were enjoying a coffee brew when it was delivered to the table. A work of art with a great selection of cheeses, assorted biscuits, pickles, olives and dried fruits. Wonderful and with minimal conversation as we munched our way through the delights on the platter. Great quirky displays throughout the building and some pretty unique gifts available for purchase. My wife selected a souvenir, I choose a bottle of Scaramouche which is described on the label as a cheeky little port. A later sample didn't disappoint. Wonderful location to visit and enjoy interesting conversation and the cheese platter.

Tranquility, hospitality and amazing valley views make Toodyay the ideal place to stop over, catch your breath, rest a while and establish a base from which to explore the area's wealth of attractions. Toodyay is situated inland in the picturesque Avon Valley region, only 80km North/East of Perth. Stay a while in Toodyay and soak up the country atmosphere at one of our Bed & Breakfasts, Homesteads, Retreats, Caravan Parks or Hotel accommodation. Also located within the Shire are the Avon Valley National Park and numerous reserves that become a blaze of colour with magnificent displays of wildflowers during the wildflower season (Aug-Nov). This beautiful valley with it's rich soils saw the settlement of Toodyay develop, in turn becoming an important agricultural district. The original settlement was established in the late 1830's along the Avon River which flows through Toodyay. The Avon River holds the world's longest white-water race, the "Avon Descent", each year in August.
The staff helped us maximise the time spent in Toodyay with very helpful advice as to interesting attractions, walks, restaurants & accommodation in and around all of Toodyay.

The PUBLIC Silo Trail is an extraordinary 1000km self-drive art trail through Western Australia’s largest outdoor art gallery. The trail traverses the charming agricultural towns of Northam, Ravensthorpe, Merredin, Albany, Newdegate and Pingrup, as well as Katanning, where public walls and transformer boxes are adorned in colourful murals painted by internationally acclaimed artists.
These are throughout WA and should be on your bucket list. Each set of silo's has a different theme.
