A little country store with all the local fixins from fresh squeezed orange juice, local honey, gifts, and fresh orange ice cream. Come out and sit on one of the orange rocking chairs and relax a bit on our front porch.
Back in the day farm and orchard stands dotted highway 27 all up and down the state. Signs read free orange juice! Inside you could get souvenirs, including Florida's own Orange Blossom perfume, which I've never seen anywhere else. Maxwell Groves is just such an authentic farmstand. They make their own orange ice cream with the oranges from their own grove. Delicious on those hot Florida days! Lots of kitschy knick knacks and souvenirs, and yes, free orange juice! Worth a visit for that feeling of old Florida, when there was no Disney, and a family looked excitedly forward to stopping on their travels to stretch their legs and visit a real orange grove.

SFSC Performing Arts presents over 30 performances each season including Artist, Matinee, Jazz, and Trending Now series.
First off, the venue is wonderful with NO BAD SEATS even in the balcony! Main door drop off (under a classy overhang) in the event of rain or those with a disability. Large staff to assist as needed and comfortable seating.
The type of shows vary a great deal to reach a wide audience range but my wife and I cannot imagine you not being satisfied if the event is a type of music/performance you happen to like. We attend a minimum of 4 each year and will do so again this fall.

Having played several of the courses around the area, River Greens is the best by far. Unlike the typical "Florida" flat greens, these are sculpted in such a way as to be very challenging while still being playable. The condition of the course was surprisingly good, particularly for the price! It is clear that both the greens crew and the people who play here care about the condition of the course, and it shows. I would be hard pressed to name a course in Miami that was in as good a condition (although they would charge 2-3 times more for a round in Miami). Well worth a visit (but don't book too many t-times, as I want to go back!)

This is a community with 36 holes of world-class golf set in a tropical oasis next to a nature conservatory and a 260-acre freshwater lake. Our slogan is "Florida's Friendliest Place", but it's not just a slogan. It's the way we approach every facet of our service, course and maintenance. You won't find a happier place.
Played here at the recommendation of friends. Great course in very good condition, particularly the greens which were wonderful to putt on. It reminded me a little of courses back home in Australia. Not entirely convinced it was worth the 1'5 hr drive from where...MoreDear Petermac-Red, Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are glad that you enjoyed the course. We hope that you come by for a visit the next time you are in Avon Park.

The Sebring Downtown Historic District is a U.S. historic district (designated as such on March 16, 1990) located in Sebring, Florida. The district is at Circle Drive and Ridgewood Drive from Mango Street to Magnolia Avenue. It contains 22 historic buildings.
Downtown Sebring has the quaint charm of the small town that it represents. Its downtown circle (with a park inside), is the perfect place for a relaxing afternoon doing nothing, but reflecting, soaking up the sun, and taking in the small, quaint shops and businesses. Downtown is well off the main Rt. 27 drag, but worth the adventure.

Located at the westernmost end of the Avon Park airport, guys, gals and even kids race souped up lawnmowers on the second Saturday of each month from September thru May,
They run on about a fifth-mile clay oval using everything from nearly stock to highly modified machines that can get above 60mph. (They take the blades off.
This is the first for-purpose lawnmower racing facility in the United States and they have everything you would expect at a speedway from grandstands to concessions.
It is a great place to take family and friends. There is no alcohol served and the crowd is fun and well behaved.

There was no play or function going on when I visited but there was a group of people getting ready to do something. I'm not sure if they were going to rehearse or something else but I got to take a good look at the locale. Very nice indeed.

Great place to take the young children. Older ones not so much. I wish they offered more, but my five year old niece adores the place!
