Step to the beat of wafting flamenco music as you wander the downtown River Walk before sampling as much chili (San Antonio’s signature dish) as your taste buds will allow. A visit to the Alamo is an absolute must, as is taking in a show at the ornate Majestic Theatre. San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is dotted with 18th-century buildings and features, making for an enriching excursion.

Ruby City is a contemporary art center in San Antonio, TX, dedicated to providing a space for the city’s thriving creative community to experience works by both local and internationally-acclaimed artists. Envisioned in 2007 by the late collector, philanthropist and artist Linda Pace, Ruby City presents works from Pace’s own collection of more than 800 paintings, sculptures, installations and video works. The new building, designed by renowned architect Sir David Adjaye and slated for completion later this year is part of a growing campus, which also includes Chris Park, a one-acre public green space named in memory of Pace’s son, and Studio, an auxiliary exhibition space which presents curated shows and programming throughout the year. Ruby City is free and open to the public.
Paid for by the Linda Pace Foundation (the family that started the Pace Hot Sauce empire) the collection is very modern art ncluding paneled movie screens, sculpture and other paintings and creations. Lots to see and it's all free. The building is a beautiful ruby colored structure. Don't miss the sculpture on n the backyard garden.

We are located in the heart of Southtown. There is no place like us. We have a full cocktail bar, restaurant, and yes a cigar shop with all of your favorite and top brands in the market. The place has a unique kind of set up and feel to it. Great view from our patio overlooking the downtown skyline. We are only minutes walking from the river walk and seconds driving. Live music most of weekends. So don’t hesitate and come see what the fuss is all about! Hope to See you here soon!

Take the docent-led tour of this Victorian mansion for a reconstructed take on the lifestyle of rich and famous San Antonio personalities in the late 1800s.
The home is magnificent and the tour is well worth it to really appreciate the life of wealthy Germans in San Antonio of the 19th century. The tours are intimate (just my wife and I with the guide) and allow for questions and conversation. I suggest the self guided walking tours of the King William district with this house tour and an inexpensive lunch at the Gunter House.

Majestic home belonging to the founders of the Pioneer Flour Mill.
This is an absolutely fabulous place for brunch. But be warned lots of other people know this! So plan to take the tour of the grounds and the house and do some shopping in their great little shop- but the wait is worth it! You can also take some fantastic photos while you wait- as the grounds are along the River and breathtaking!

and very good for everyone else. Something like 7500 artifacts in the house with each one being what would be the prized possession of any individual. Many quirky and fun (ten silver cow cream dispensers) some impressive (one of twelve death masks made of Napoleon Bonaparte) and others plain beautiful.) There is a good history of the house and the docent was ready to provide her best answer for every question. Best to plan your day around one of the guided tours as without that, you do not get to see the entire house.

CHRISpark is designed as a place of beauty, contemplation, and joy. This one-acre public park features a rhythmic layout of lush foliage, inviting walkways, areas of repose, sites of play, and encounters with contemporary art. Designed by Jon Ahearns of King's Creek Landscape Architecture and consulting landscape architect Rosa Finsley, CHRISpark features lush and Xeriscape friendly plants which are suited to the South Texas climate. Dedicated and maintained by the Linda Pace Foundation, the park celebrates the life of Chris Goldsbury, the son of Linda Pace who founded the Linda Pace Foundation. The park captures exquisite examples of nature's beauty and artistic moments. Respected artist Teresita Fernandez conceived several visual experiences which commemorate the potential of everyday occurrences.

The art gallery is located in an old house. There are 2 floors of artwork, with one room set aside on the top floor for artwork from patrons of the gallery. When we were there, they were showing pieces from Carmen Cartiness Johnson - Urban and Fun, and Yvette Shadrock - bordering on fantasy, very detailed artwork. I wish I remembered the name of the lady who greeted us, she was great. Very helpful not just with the gallery but also in talking about the history of the house and the neighborhood. It's free to look around, and takes maybe a 1/2 hour to an hour. I recommend walking around the King Williams District, look at the old homes and tour this museum.
