Tushpa Wine Cellar is a traditional Armenian winery, both family-owned and managed. The winery is named for the historic area of Tushpa, now known as Van, from where our ancestors originated. We are located in the heart of the Ararat Valley, 35 km west of downtown Yerevan. Settled beneath the Biblical Mount Ararat. TUSHPA was founded in 1992 by the winemaker Mihran Manasserian. Mihran Manasserian creates remarkable wines through winemaking traditions that his ancestors, passed down to him. He and his son Abraham combine these traditions with modern technologies to create the unforgettable essence of our wines.

The history of viticulture in Haroutyun’s family and Armenia in general is best described as follows: viticulture is love, parental gentleness that is passed on to generations. This is a love story. You can use plants to transfer parental warmth, sweetness, love and history only if the community perceives grapes and wine as culture and part of identity. When in 1964 Haroutyun’s grandfather Jivan moved Pokr Vedi in Ararat Valley from Vayots Dzor, he brought with him a vine planted by his father and built a pergola in front of his new house, ensuring the continuity of their grapes and his own story. The village is located in Ararat Valley in front of the biblical Mount Ararat, which is an important center of viticulture and winemaking. Visit the garden and vineyards and continue the tour to the cellar, where Harutyun will introduce his wines and vodkas. Enjoy the tasting and buy some of your favourits.
