I took my wife here for Valentine’s Day and did not regret it. The owner is very pleasant and the wines were great. It turns out that there’s a whole wine trail of other vineyards in Alabama that you can go to and a few of them are close by to this one. Very fun experience. Check them all out.

Blackberry Hill Alpacas is a 60 acre farm of gently rolling hills in Anniston, Alabama. It is home to a heard of huycaya and suri alpacas. Founded in 1944, the farm has been host to a variety of animals. Alpacas, which have only been in the United States since 1984, became residents of the farm in 2006. Farm owners, Debbi and Hank Merrill, welcome visitors and groups to meet the alpacas and learn about the fascinating animals. Recently, the farm has grown to include weddings and events. The farm is set under towering oak trees near a picturesque pond. A newly built pavilion stands ready to host your dream wedding and the farm house awaits the wedding party before the ceremony. Up to 100 guests can stroll the ground and pose for photos near the alpaca pastures, ponds and farm buildings. The bridal couple may choose to have their special ceremony near the pond or in the pavilion. There are endless possibilities for your dream wedding, family reunion, or birthday party.

Great collection of firearms and other weapons. They have paintings and sculptures, ceramics, even books. This is a great learning experience, especially for history buffs.

We have been members at Fernbank in Atlanta for years, so I didn't know what to expect, but once we got in I was blown away. There were displays that seemed to all appear relatively new, several areas for kids to look behind flaps or feel some different things, a simulated cave in one part and a HUGE display of stuffed animals from all over the world. From dinosaurs, to caves, to mummies, to African animals, birds, an ocean area discussing recycling it was truly a great experience especially for the price. It took us 2 hours to get there, but I can see us going agin in the future because it was a fun and enjoyable experience!!! If you are ever traveling near Anniston, take a detour or plan a trip to this museum.

There will soon be a new national monument to the Freedom Riders in Anniston, but for now there is this monument. It is small but well researched and documented. It's worth a stop.
