Starting from the center of Ancona, after a long uphill walk, you can admire this magnificent Romanesque cathedral. The cathedral is located right at the top of a hill overlooking Ancona from which you can see a wonderful view of the sea. Where Greek temples once dominated, Christianity has replaced them with this beautiful cathedral. Definitely worth the visit, try it at sunrise or sunset for sure and very suggestive

A unique barrier-free museum, whose aim is to export its experience and philosophy by promoting a multi-sensory enjoyment of art. Housed in the Eighteenth-century rooms of the Mole Vanvitelliana, Ancona, the Museo Omero can be seen as a three-dimensional encyclopaedia of art history. The collection covers all the main periods of sculpture and plastic arts: it has casts taken from original Classical Greek masterpieces, sculptures by Michelangelo as well architectonic scales of Partenone and Basilica di San Pietro. Several are the original works by contemporary sculptors such as De Chirico, Marini, Martini, Messina, Pistoletto and many others. The Museum is a centre for training and research, a permanent workshop for the promotion and enjoyment of works of art, the champion of tactile exhibitions of national and international importance, thematic exhibitions, and it provides learning services for schools and families. Free admssion.

Breathtaking sight in all seasons. At its best in spring and autumn. Very crowded in summer, but certainly worth seeing. Should you get hungry there are many restaurants, and the food is really super. In summer you can also get a takeaway pasta at a reasonable price at lunch time, In the spring all the fllowers are in bloom, and the contrast between the blue sea and the yellow flowers is really superbe.

The museum was really well done, with a large quantity of displays. There were different sections according to the various periods of time. On display were ancient tools, jewelry, helmets, a loom, examples of dyed yarns, etc. About a third of the displays had English translations. In at least one of the sections without English translation, there were helpful charts on the wall. I was there on a weekday morning and there were not a lot of visitors so it was very easy to meander and spend the time looking at the various displays. The employees were very nice and helpful despite my minimal knowledge of Italian, and the admission price was quite reasonable.

Excellent spot for hanging out, especially in the evening. Quiet, easy going and on the sea. A special place.
