The castro is located near the top of a mountain. It is an excellent example of an old celtc settlement and the views from the top of the mountain were great, including a view of A Guarda.

Being of Celtic heritage made this even more special. You can get right in amongst the stone huts and walled village. Even if the history is not your thing there are amazing views to the Atlantic and across the river to Portugal. Excellent visitor centre at top of the hill with free entrance and plenty of exhibits. Restaurants and cafes at reasonable prices too!

Fairy tale scenic views of river and ocean, Portigal and Spain plus restored ruins of ancient Celtic village. Some tourist gift shops on top. Make sure to avoid on windy and foggy days to get teh best views. Drive slowly as there is no safety barrier on most parts of the slinging road. Plenty of parking space at thre edifferent spots. Two affordable restaurants with views on top.

The area near Monte Santa Trega is rich with painstakingly unearthed village ruins that you can wander for no charge, but be respectful please. The work is still ongoing in the area.
