Bells Beach is a surf beach, best known for the annual Bells Beach Surf Classic. It's not really a paddling beach, it's more for surfers, who love Bells. The beach can be treacherous, don't take risks in the water unless you are a strong swimmer. Bells isn't all that great to look at, it's the surf that makes it famous.

Fascinating to find about the history of Aussie surfing with some supercool 70s photography, loads of surfboards and interesting exhibits. Could easily have spent a couple of hours (but had a stroppy teenage daughter waiting in the car!) The staff were really nice and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable visit - highly recommended!

The Torquay Information Centre is a great place to get some information about the local area and attractions. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. There are lots of locally made souvenirs, such as candles, tshirts etc on sale. A highlight is the Local artist Showcase window. Every six weeks a new artist is showcased with work for sale. Support the local artists if you are looking for a unique gift.

Plenty of space, fun wooden structure to play chases or hide and seek. Lots of variety for young and old. Common strategy of parents is to bring along a picnic or lazy fish & chips then watch their children having fun from the provided tables and benches. Outdoor joy for all.

Definitely worth stopping to have a look and walk along the beach. Great for photographs too. Seems to be lots of parking available.
