There's a variety of water sports in Redding, from whitewater rafting on the Sacramento River to waterskiing, swimming, fishing and sailing on Shasta Lake, one of four magnificent manmade lakes in this northeastern California town. When you're ready to dry off, there are also plenty of land-based activities, like camping or hiking in the national forests and parks, following walking trails through the 220-acre arboretum or spending time exploring two fascinating parks: Shasta State Historic Park and Turtle Bay Exploration Park. At Shasta State, you'll find the ghost town of Shasta City from the Gold Rush days, complete with restored stagecoach, barn and courthouse, with eerie reminders of where prisoners were kept and sometimes hanged. The ever-expanding 300-acre Turtle Bay Park houses the recently opened Turtle Bay Museum, with extraordinary hands-on exhibits focusing on the environment and an outstanding collection of American Indian baskets. The kids will love the park's Paul Bunyan's Forest Camp, which includes a playground, logging and ecology exhibits and the popular summer butterfly house, where the fragile winged creatures flit about and alight on welcoming visitors.

Extreme Escape Redding is a live action escape game designed for 3-10 people. This brain teasing game is full of challenges. Every corner, every wall, every book, every drawer could contain hints, clues, and keys that will help you escape and complete the room objectives....but the clock is ticking and you have only 60 minutes. Your key to success will be teamwork, communication and an open mind.
We did this as a team building event with my work. What a fun and interactive way to get to work together without the pressure of the big boss. Thanks again for the fun and the insight into how to be a more efficient team!

Turtle Bay Exploration Park is a fun, non-profit 300-acre gathering place featuring the Sundial Bridge, a museum, forestry & wildlife center, arboretum and botanical gardens. At the gateway to the Sacramento River Trails, Turtle Bay celebrates far Northern California as part of the world we share. We envision Turtle Bay Exploration Park as a vibrant gathering place where our community is strengthened through education, cultural engagement and economic growth.
I love going here when the car show is going on in april. Lots of things to do and it's very reasonable.

Designated as a National Recreation Trail by the U.S. National Park Service, this scenic trail offers hiking, biking and horseback riding within the boundaries of a lively city.
It is a great place to walk and has many wonderful things to see. We take the dogs (on leashes) and they love it.

Scheduled for completion in Summer 2004, this unusually designed bridge, functioning as a sundial at one end and conveying a sense of weightlessness, connects the north and south campuses of Turtle Bay Exploration Park.
Beautiful area for a stroll with the Discovery Museum nearby and lots of great activities for free and charge. The bridge has an amazing design with a glass deck and crosses the Sacramento river

We stayed in the JGW RV Park and had a river from site for 2 nights. loved taking our chairs out to the grassy areas beneath mature trees and sat to watch the river, floaters and boaters pass by . We come from the central coast of CA so do not get to see a river this large frequently. Really loved the river setting and riparian areas. The river seemed quite high this years so there must have been plenty of snow this past winter. We rode our bikes beside the river and also walked for miles along the river trail. Not to be missed.

The main draw here is the viewing platform for watching salmon move upstream to spawn. However, the trail leading upstream from the viewing platform is excellent. You get great views of the gorge before crossing the road into a section of the trail that has been impacted by a past forest fire. The trail is well marked and traverses some very interesting habitat. It is a good area for birds and other wildlife. We were here in the fall, but I would guess that there would be an abundance of wildflowers along the trail in the spring. There are other trails along Clear Creek Road that might be worth exploring

Bethel Redding's mission is to create a vibrant family of hope filled believers who deeply experience the love and presence of God and partner with Jesus to express the joy and power of His kingdom in every area of life. We've learned that to have a global impact it starts with individual hearts. Though we worship together across multiple campuses and services, we are bound together by a single mandate: to bring Heaven to Earth. At the center of our gatherings is a pursuit of God's presence, where our hearts are transformed and launched into their destinies. Whether you are new to the family or a long-time member, we cannot wait to connect with you, pursuing God's presence until the world changes.
Godly, people, extremely sincere in Jesus Christ. Definitely worth visiting. Didn't expect much from the prophetic ministry - not having experienced it before. So I told them only my first name and nothing more. I was very surprised and grateful for the spot-on prophesy I received. Amazingly spot-on.

Recently I attended two events at the Cascade Theatre. This previous Sunday I enjoyed the North State Symphony which featured The Project Trio. Both were amazing. The symphony is incredible and The Project Trio were uplifting and humorous. A few weeks ago I attended a magic show by a past America's Got Talent winner Mat Franco. He picked me to be one of the people who assisted him in one of his many magic tricks. Mat blew me away. And exactly 10 years ago today I saw the play 'Nunsense'. It starred Sally Struthers who played Gloria on 'All In The Family'. Man Sally can sing! All in all, I've attended a variety of outstanding performances. The theatre is stunning just to look at and admire. I highly recommend attending any performance there. It's beautifully elegant. Staff is always friendly.

Lema Ranch is a beautiful place to walk and to sit on a bench to relax by looking over the pond and the wildlife. We went on a Sunday afternoon, there was plenty of parking and not many people on the trails. Many varieties of trees, many birds including geese, ducks, a heron, and woodpeckers. Really great place to go just to unwind.
