In Canada's wine country, Niagara-on-the-Lake presents a well-preserved 19th-century village and its charms. Drive or bike through the area, stopping at wineries and Fort George National Historic Site. Ride along the Niagara Escarpment on horseback or book a white-water adventure at nearby Niagara Falls (you might have heard of them).

This is our favourite bike ride each year, from Niagara-On-The-Lake to The Falls and back!! Either Spring of Fall - during the week is best to avoid the crowds, cut off the The Parkway at the Helicopter Rides (stop lights) and ride through the town of Niagara Falls to Clifton Hill, then back down to the river (much safer!!). About 52km round trip... pack a lunch & enjoy the Falls!!

Great place to learn more about the British experience in the War of 1812! Musicians, "troops" drilling in period costume, cannons, one original building and plenty of other realistically reconstructed buildings with detailed histories. Don't miss the musket firing drill! Kids loved it.

Niagara trail riding at it's best! Public trail riding along the Niagara escarpment in the heart of wine country. Niagara's longest running trail riding establishment, since 1961. No experience necessary, horses for all levels, minimum age 10 yrs. 15 minutes from both Old Town Niagara On The Lake and Niagara Falls. Open all season, reservations recommended.
My daughter and I had a wonderful time with Dinah and her beautiful horses. Lovely area with vineyard's/flowers/wooded trails. A great way to spend part of your day then head into Niagara-on-the-Lake for lunch. We both hope to return one day. Many thanks Dinah!

Brock's Monument National Historic Site towers over picturesque Queenston Heights, Ontario. The monument measures 56 metres (185 feet) in height and is the largest monument of its kind in Canada. Situated on the site of the Battle of Queenston Heights where British and American soldiers struggled for the destiny of two nations, Brock's Monument is the final resting place of Major General Sir Isaac Brock and his Aide-de-Camp Lieutenant Colonel John Macdonell.
Larger than life, this Monument to General Brock is set in the middle of beautiful Queenstown Heights Park. Staff dressed in period costumes greet you at the entrance. You can climb to the top if you dare! We'll worth a visit.

We went to see the Laura Secord Homestead We will learn a lot of Laura Secord Homestead. Her husband was injured. When she heard that the Americans were going to fight in our country, Laura went early in the morning that the Americans were going to attack Canada. Laura saved Canada. The soldiers were there thanks to Secord.
