My husband thoroughly enjoyed his belated 60th birthday present of a half day experience. He was able to handle and learn about a wide variety of birds of prey. The experience was great value for money and he would recommend to all.

To encourage new, fresh and emerging talent and to provide creative, innovative and interesting theatre and arts entertainment to the people of Braintree and beyond. Opened in 2011, we host a varitey of different performances ranging from classic Shakespeare to The Beatles tribute act and everything in between.
Saw Dire Streets here last Friday, our first time visiting this venue. The facilities were all excellent and seating comfortable. Bar prices reasonable which made for an enjoyable night out. Dire Streets were a fantastic band and well worth seeing if, like me, you grew up with the original.

Colchester Zoo is constantly developing and has won many awards for its work. With over 270 species to see, set in 60 acres of beautiful parkland and lakes, Colchester Zoo is well worth a visit. As you walk around the zoo there's plenty of play areas to try out including the indoor soft play area Jungle Tumble with a section for under 3s and all new play equipment where the kids can release their wild side! New enclosures include a walk through enclosure with butterflies and another with Rainbow Lorikeets offering visitors a chance to feed them a treat of nectar. Plus there's 'Bears of the Rising Sun', a state of the art enclosure which houses two beautiful sun bears , Jo Jo and Srey Ya. You can also come face to face with Komodo Dragons, see white rhino, giraffes, ostrich and kudu roaming together at Kingdom of the Wild and walk underwater through the 24m tunnel at the Playa Patagonia sealion pool. Learn more about the animals and see them up close by watching one of the 50 daily displays. You even get the fantastic opportunity to feed the elephants and giraffes yourself and take a ride on the 'Lost Madagascar Express' road train! Don't forget to pop into the discovery centre and have a go at handling some unusual bugs or get your face painted and transform yourself into your favourite animal!
We did the extra ordinary experience today and it was the most fantastic thing anyone could ever do! If you have a real passion for animals then this is the thing for you!!!We got to feed the tigers, meet the gorgeous cubs, meet the aardvarks, meet the meerkats, feed the penguins, feed the otters, feed the elephants, feed the giraffes, meet the sea lions, meet the Lima’s and much more. Breakfast and lunch was lovely , our guid was fantastic!! This was honestly what felt like an experience of a lifetime . Worth every single penny , we learnt so much about so many animals and the work that goes into the care of the animals and the zoo is incredible! Would 1million percent recommend Colchester zoo and the experiences to anyone best day out by far!!! Thankyou Colchester zoo for a brilliant day ❤️❤️❤️

Adventure Island Fun Park is the U.K's No.1 FREE ADMISSION Fun Park. Situated on Southend-on-Sea's famous seafront we have over 40 fabulous rides and attractions including the outragous RAGE roller coaster. You don't pay to enter, you ride the rides with our great value all day ride bands.
My 7 year daughter and her 9 year old friend were treated to a day out at Southend a few days ago. My wife had visited adventure island a number of times as a child but I never had and being completely honest, for some reason always though Southend and adventure island would be a run down typical English seas side town. I was very very wrong!!! Adventure island was brilliant, so much to do and good value too having purchased tickets online in advance. Parking was simple on the sea front and cost £6.60 for 7 hours. The staff on every ride were so interactive and more like entertainment staff than your usual theme park ride assistants, cracking jokes, having sing songs with the kids and spending time with every guest even during busy times. I really am pleased to say I loved it and we will be back again shortly!!!

We had another wonderful time at this fantastic attraction. So much to explore and engage in, educational, interactive fun throughout the castle grounds and the most far out, wackiest and full on British eccentric museum you can ever hope to visit, I stare in awe and the huge star wars collection. All the staff are friendly, cheerfully and helpful. You made my Daughters 13th Birthday very special during this trying time of corona virus. See you again soon

Set in the heart of rural Essex, and enjoying stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, RHS Garden Hyde Hall is one of the finest gardens in the east of England. This 360-acre site is a haven of peace and tranquillity, encompassing a diverse mix of garden styles from traditional to modern. Highlights include the Dry Garden with its fantastic range of drought resistant plants, and the Hilltop Garden with its roses and herbaceous borders. There’s also a Global Growth Vegetable Garden, which showcases vegetables from around the world and a Winter Garden that celebrates the delights of wintertime. There's also a cafe, restaurant, garden library, children's play area, gift shop and garden centre.
This place will be enjoyed by all the family, as there is so much to see there, as well as a nice restaurant, gift shop & plant centre where you can purchase some nice specimens to take home. Well worth a visit at any time of year.

Just got back after a day at Promanade Park with the grandchildren (age 5 and 18 months) Loads to do - playgrounds, a small zip wire, crazy golf, large sand area etc also a huge amount of refreshment places open. But the best part of the day by far was the petting zoo. Admission was very cheap. £14 for all of us and for that you not only got the animals to look at with very knowledgable staff but we also got to pet and hold a tarantula, boa, lizard and a skunk. The lad who did the sessions with those animals was amazing. We all loved it.

Established on the current Clacton site in 1899, and run independently by the West Cliff Trust, the West Cliff is the only surviving purpose-built theatre in Clacton, and plays host to professional touring shows and many local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, dance schools, and other youth groups. Its compact auditorium with just under 600 seats, a unique atmosphere and knowledgeable and friendly staff make it Clacton's theatre of choice for artistes and audiences alike. The Stage Door Bar is open prior to, during the interval and after each show, and provides pre-booked meals for selected shows. The lounge may be hired for private functions with or without bar and catering services.
What a find! A lovely place to enjoy a delicious home cooked lunch, sandwiches or home made cakes at reasonable prices in pleasant surroundings and lovely welcoming staff. We always look forward to going there when we have to visit Clacton hospital as it is just across the road. Do give it a try!
