We love Beaver island and it's people..the atmosphere and the friendly waves. We recently went to a play and comedy show. We looked at a building in the harbor for a future business and we hit it off with the owner. We've decided to try to make Beaver island our home if possible. The community center has so much to do..we lead a simple life..it has everything we need. Beaver island is a piece of heaven. Can't wait to stay. See you soon. Really nice place to come together.

This Antrim County river has been protected by the state of Michigan since 1970.
Paddle the Jordan River with a great group from JVO. Winter rafting can be an eye opening experience. Unplug and get outside & get ‘connected’. Wildlife along the river can vary from mink, owls, deer, turkeys and often a bald Eagle. Be safe- know the river flows. In Spring when snow melts it can be a tricky river to navigate. Always bring PFDs and use caution.

This historical site of 19th-century Mormon followers is now a quiet, quaint attraction.
Vacation starts the minute you pass the drawbridge in Charlevoix on the Emerald Isle. The two hour boat trip is just the right length to decompress and leave your busy life behind on the mainland. You arrive to a town that is quiet and peaceful. Whether you stay in town or elsewhere, you find yourself moving at a slower pace. The serenity, the lake views, and the natural beauty of this place is matched only by the friendliness of the people you meet. This is what vacation is supposed to be.

Open year round, Castle Farms is one of Northern Michigan's top historic attractions, as well as one of the Midwest's premier wedding venues. Visitors can stroll throughout the magnificent stone buildings dating back to 1918, and enjoy gorgeous gardens. A variety of museum quality collections featuring castles, antique toys, and royalty memorabilia from around the world are displayed throughout the buildings. The Castle's 1918 Museum showcases items from that time era, plus World War I memorabilia. Children delight in feeding the huge rainbow trout swimming in the Reflection Pond, playing a game of giant chess, or hide-and-seek with the fairies and gnomes dwelling in the Enchanted Forest. Our Self-Guided Tours offer Scavenger Hunt tours for children, too! Everyone loves The Castle's Garden Railroad; with more than 1/2 mile of track and 68 G-scale trains, it's one of the largest in the State. Listed on both the National and State Historic Registries, Castle Farms is a world-class historic property where old world charm and modern-day elegance enchant visitors of all ages.

Took the Emerald Isle from Charlevoix to Beaver Island and back for a day trip adventure. We didn't bring a car or luggage. The boat seems recently fixed up and you can bring food on (saw boxes of sandwiches and a whole deep dish pizza!) and apparently alcohol because people were drinking at 9am and there's not a bar on board. Will remember that next time! Dogs are allowed ($12 one way) and we got to meet several, who all did very well. The lake can get a bit choppy so I'd recommend taking something if you might get seasick. There are also several bathrooms onboard. We arrived at the dock with a gift certificate for round trip passes and a 1.5 hour island bus tour for 2 people and had to get 2 more of the same since there were 4 in our party. We had also made reservations for the bus tour for 4 and had an email confirmation. The person at the ticket counter at the dock was so confused and flustered and had no record of the reservation that they'd sent a confirmation for. The transaction took a long time. The person at the bus tour place had record of the reservation, but for 2 rather than 4. It all ended up working out fine but getting things started felt a little dicey. And yes, there's free wifi!
