With more surviving 18th century buildings than any other city in the United States, visiting Annapolis is like stepping back in time to the days when the city was a colonial seaport. Known as America’s Sailing Capital, the city is located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and is a paradise for water lovers, famous for its crab cakes, lighthouses, and 500 miles of gorgeous shoreline. Tour the campus of the US Naval Academy, or the Maryland State House, the oldest state capitol still in use.

Established in 1845, this undergraduate college for the Navy prepares men and women to become professional officers in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
The US Naval Academy is the epitome of the service academies (sorry West Point, CG and MA) The campus is steeped in history, the openness and availability to stroll its park-like environs, make it an amazing visit, something you need to incorporate if you're ever in the Annapolis area. Oh and the Midshipmen are the most polite, articulate focused yond men and women you'll ever have a chance to meet. Go Navy!

Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake is a unique, unforgettable experience for your child aboard a pirate ship in the Annapolis Harbor. You will be amazed as we tap into your child's imagination and transform him or her into a pirate, complete with face paint, tattoos, and pirate fashions. Time aboard our ship is filled with non-stop activity, including reading a treasure map, hauling loot aboard, and, of course, defending the ship with our famous water cannons.

We attended the 5pm Saturday Vigil Mass. It was all good, especially the gorgeous, traditional interior and choir. Father Dau said a reverent Mass; however, the alter servers needed a bit more instruction on the importance of their function :-)

FUNtastic and relaxing SAILING trips from historic Annapolis,MD less than an hour away from Washington or Baltimore. Join me, Captain Paul Foer on my restored classic sailboat 38' sailboat, "Non Sea Quitter", as we sail on the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay where I grew up boating with my family. We offer private trips for up to six guests. While visiting, you may enjoy waterfront dining, live music and lodging at nearby restaurants and other nearby tourist, historic and outdoor attractions. Come for a few hours, a day or even an overnight adventure. Sit back and relax or help us raise sails and take the wheel as we sail across the open Bay and see globe-trotting freighters, yachts racing, the Chesapeake Bay Bridges, osprey, ducks and maybe even rays or dolphins swimming. Funtastic sailing for all ages.
