Museo Historico de Acapulco Fuerte de San Diego

This 18th-century Spanish fortress turned museum is occasionally the site for festive gatherings.

Reviewed By sylvief845 - Longueuil, Canada

Acapulco owns a very rich history and we were very happy to discover it by visiting that fortress and its museum. About 10 rooms are dedicated to different ages and aspects of what was the most important port in New Spain. We went 3 times as we wanted to read and learn the most possible!

Laguna de Tres Palos

Located east of the city, this fresh-water lagoon is great for viewing wildlife and engaging in water sports.

We went with Roberto Alercon. He is simply amazing. He set us up with Captain Felix. We released sea turtles then had margaritas! We then had a tour of the lagoon with Captain Felix. It is a lovely, peaceful place. There were many birds to see and the water lilies were lovely. We jumped in the water and picked a water lily bouquet! We were also given water lily necklaces to wear. Captain Felix’s assistant collected the famous mud and we were given mud facials. The mud is said to take 10-15 years off. Sadly, I cannot verify this, but it was still really fun! We then ate lunch at a lovely restaurant on the beach that had wonderful fresh seafood. It was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this tour with Roberto Alercon!!!

We have visited the Murals Diego Rivera several times as part of the Acapulco City Tour. They are amazing and also are great photo opportunities. Portions look a bit worn, but I assume they have been well preserved over the years.

La Quebrada

These cliffs are home to the daredevil cliff divers.

Reviewed By solo_negro

The name means "the broken" since the cliffs were dynamited to quarry rock for a hotel (according to a sign at the scene). The cliff views are amazing and the cliff divers death defying. There was a carnival atmosphere each night as the locals congregated to view the divers. Every visitor to Acapulco should include this site at night.

High Cliff Divers by Night with Dinner

Reviewed By Shunt0 - Laconia Region, Greece

On a warm summer evening, the captain of an 80ft motor yacht approached my First 35 Beneteau sailing yacht and asked if we wanted to experience Acapulco cliff divers at night...on the sea. I thought he meant for his vessel but I was wrong. He offered to join us and my crew to see the divers from my boat. It was magical. And at the end of the show, one of the divers swam out to our humble yacht and displayed to athletic physique of a cliff diver aboard. My crew was in awe and thankfully shared many dollars with the young athlete. I can attest that the view from the water was more than I expected and hope to return to see it from the shore. Bravo!
