We stayed nearby this area for a couple of days and really felt like walking that day. We parked on Drottninggatan close to the harbourfront. From there we entered the Reserve from the North (near the Marina). As soon as you go around the corner from the Marina you'll be quite surprised. You wouldn't expect such an impressive Reserve so close to a town. It's really just around the corner but feels like another world. The views are amazing and the rocks and rock formations impressive. We brought our dog with (an English Bulldog). She did amazingly well. Just at the very beginning on the Northern Entrance a few steps leading up were too big and steep, so we carried her quick. Later on there's an easy trail leading back to town. Or you can follow a tougher route (sometimes no route at all) leading towards the famous Fyrhuset. We had fun exploring the area as did our dog. Nice views and nature and it was just fun climbing around here. Sometimes taking a break - sitting on some rocks - to take in the amazing landscape. If you only need to park up to 4 hours, then there's a free parking lot just south of the Gullmarsgymnasiet. If you are around this area - even an hour or two away - be sure not to miss out on this terrific Nature Reserve.

On a desert island in an arqipelago of 365 small islets on the North West Coast of Sweden, you will find us, Väderöarnas Värdshus. Pilots and their familys have lived here for many hundred years, helping lost ships find their way, by keeping watch from the Pilots look out on the highest point on the biggest island Storö. In the old houses we have 16 rooms, 7 ensuite, mostly double rooms but also some family rooms. Our restaurant serves local, sometimes self catched sea food and a lot of other delicious courses made by our fantastic Chefs! You can relax in the granite sauna and our salt water hottubs just by the sea, so take a dip, the Scandinavian way! The beatiful, rocky walking path is a must! There is no natural water on the island, so we desalinate our daily use of water from the sea, we have our own power plant and solar cells for energy, we work active with sustainability! We get you safely from the mainland to the island, 45min, in our big Catapult Catamaran boats.
It IS like what it says on the T-shirts of the staff. Breath IN, breath OUT, ENJOY ... The calm atmosphere is well kept even though the guest harbour is more than full of yachts, probably because of the professional staff. Buy a B&B package tour (boat transport included) or just stop by for a lunch using own boat, the choice is yours. A dip in the clean waters and then a beer on the quay-side is a fantastic combo.

This short hike was recommended by Hannah while we waited to have our room cleaned. We arrived before check-in time. The hike was a terrific way to spend a couple of hours before we went into to Grebbestad for a late lunch. I would recommend this easy hike for anyone. The rocks are easy to move on and the path is well marked if you use the “red route”. Since there was a strong wind we got to see wonderful waves crashing over the rocks.

Liseberg is a park for everyone. Since 1923 we have brought millions of people together to have fun. The park offers adventure, music, games, good food and beautiful gardens over three seasons: summer, Halloween and Christmas.
This place is definitely a must do in Gothenburg! We paid for the Christmas entry ticket as we only wanted to walk around and not go on the rides, this was reasonable at about £8. The park is decorated so beautifully for Christmas and really is magical. There is a tram stop nearby but it also isn't too long a walk from the centre. There is so much to do there even if you do not want to go on any of the rides.

Great experience! This museum has really nice impressionists collection - Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Mark Chagall! Separate room is dedicated to Pablo Picasso, which have some of his famous works, for example "Family of acrobats with monkey". This art museum have great old European and Scandinavian masters, including Rubens. On the first and second floor you can find some modern art ! Definitely recommend to all!

My 11yo son and I followed Bohusleden to and through Delsjön Nature Reserve. What a beautiful area. There are many seperate trails that can be followed, as well as Bohusleden. The main paths are well marked and even surfaced. There are countless places to sit and ejoy the review around the lake, or to take swim and cool off. There is even a beach area and a wonderful place to fika (Kaffestugan Lyckan). In this same area you will also find bathrooms, fresh water and places to rent a canoe, or go fishing. There are several rest areas around the lake where you can have a picnic. This area is great for anyone who wants to be out for just a short walk, or spend the day.

Welcome to one of the largest botanical gardens in Northern Europe. The cultivated part occupies 40 acres and holds about 12 000 species. It is a botanical garden with a strong emphasis on horticulture and the garden is divided into different sections linked by lawns with fine trees and shrubs. You will find a kitchen garden, a herb garden, perennial and annual borders, a Japanese glade, a rhododendron valley and a stunning rock garden with a waterfall. In the bulb garden you find species that are not grown anywhere else. The Greenhouses have more than 4 000 species including a large collection of orchids and carnivorous plants. The Eastern Island tree, extinct in its natural locality, is preserved here. The garden is bordering a nature reserve where also the arboretum is located.
A lovely garden with so many different plants and trees in one place. Springtime, summer, autumn, winter, worth visiting all year round. Nice cafe for a rest as well.

Huge park on the outskirts of the city center. Parking (meter) available. Did not know what to expect. Absolutely huge, with large flat grass areas to relax, picnic or unwind, and forest areas. A free zoo in the middle allows you to see Gotland ponies, pingouins, sea lions, the famous moose and other Nordic animals. Very well done. There’s even a little petting zoo for children (closed at the moment due to corona). You can stop for an ice cream or waffle at a little cafe in the middle, or when you get to the end of the zoo there’s a much bigger restaurant that offers a lot more choices including savoury dishes. There’s also a great kids playground. Near the natural history museum.
