We went here after reading the few reviews on here. The cascading waterfall is breathtaking. We went scrambling up and over bridges that don't look sturdy but surprised us all! They're not going anywhere soon! Keep climbing as the views are absolutely worth it. We spent around 2 hours there going up, down and over ladders, following the wall of the canyon. We had a beautiful picnic - there are plenty of places to stop and rest - we chose next to the waterfall before walking and were lucky enough for it to be really quiet. Useful tips: 1. Wear sturdy and good gripping shoes 2. Take a picnic to enjoy 3. Take plenty of water 4. Take swimmers if you fancy a dip 5. Be aware that in places further on in the walk, there is no hand rail so if you are anxious about heights, think about how far you want to go! 6. Rocks can be slippery when wet Whatever you do, go and check out this gem of a place

Wether you are chilling alone with a book or having a night out with bunch of friends, The Gallery is the best place to be in Veliko Tarnovo. Great home made lemonade too. The staff is awesome. The view is amazing. The music is cool, there are lots of social events there as well.

Dating to the 12th century, this strategic fortress is one of two highly fortified hills (Trapezitza being the other) that protected Bulgarian rulers living on the site in the tsar’s palace.
Tsarevets is a medieval stronghold located on a hill with the same name in Veliko Tarnovo. If you are going there on the summer..bring a hat its quite hot when its sunny. The Sound and Light audiovisual show is an attraction carried out in the evening that uses three lasers, variegated lights, dramatic music and church bells to tell the story of the fall of Tarnovo to the Ottomans, as well as other key moments of the history of Bulgaria. It was free on every Saturday of the week and it was a great experience.

We visited the Church of the Nativity on a Viking River Cruise excursion. The local church guide gave an excellent overview of each part of the church and meaning of all the frescos. No pictures are allowed inside.
