We are a warm and cosy micropub, true to the values of the micropub ethos. We offer a warm welcome (as our many reviews testify) and up to 5 ever-changing real ales from around the country, hand-pulled to perfection. We are in the Camra Good Beer Guide for the Sixth year running. In addition to real ale we also dispense still cider, a range of wines (3 red, 3 white, 1 rose and 1 prosecco) together with a range of continental bottled beers.
Adam and Steve run a fabulous little micro pub with a wonderful atmosphere. There are usually 5 hand pulled ales available, all well kept reasonably priced. A selection of wines and ciders complement the line up. Regulars and casual visitors chat together in the small and intimate surroundings. If you want to have a bit of fun, tell Adam the washroom mirror is ok, but the tiles are sloping. We found the place by chance on our first afternoon in town and managed to pop in for a “quick one” each day of our long weekend. Looking forward to returning next time we stay.

Snaygill Boats started back in 1977 with the aim of providing a top quality canal holidays fleet on this loveliest of all canals. We were drawn to the Skipton area by the beauty of the Yorkshire countryside and because the Leeds Liverpool canal is so quiet and unspoilt. A really good narrowboat canal holiday or day trip depends on a lot of things like first class boats, a quiet canal, on the spot owners and staff, on–board tuition, in-person lock training (yes, we meet you at the locks and show you first hand how to use them safely), easy car access with FREE unlimited safe parking and a general atmosphere of helpfulness. Snaygill's position in a major Heritage Area is also a big advantage because there is a lot to see and do here.

Always have a fabulous time at the Mess Room. Very friendly staff and a good range of drinks - highly recommend the rhubarb cider. The inside is very cosy but, if the weather is nice, there is no nicer place to sit than in the beer garden. Can't wait until it opens again so we can visit - hopefully with friends.

Where better to experience almost a thousand years of British history than by visiting Skipton Castle. Open all year round, tours are popular with visitors who come from far and wide to explore what some consider to be, a castle jewel of the North. Overlooking an intriguing market town, this remarkable 900 year old fortress is one of the best preserved and most complete medieval castles in England. The history is inseparable from the Clifford family. During the Civil War, Skipton Castle was the last Royalist bastion in the North, yielding only after a three-year siege in 1645. ‘Slighted’ under the orders of Cromwell, the Castle was skilfully restored years later by the indubitable matriarch and egalitarian, Lady Anne Clifford (1589-1676) who was born here. Today the dedicated team at Skipton Castle follow in her footsteps in its preservation. It is the focal point at the top of the High Street, so after a visit, it is fun and easy to take a stroll around the lovely shops, old mark
Despite living nearby this was my first time actually inside the grounds of the Castle! It is well worth a visit if you like history and the castle is a wonderful building with some wonderful views and extremely well preserved. All grounds are also very well kept and pretty. All staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly, giving directions and extra info which is really nice and was appreciated. A handy free tour sheet is included with ticket price with a suggested anti clockwise route suggested so you don’t miss anything. There’s also more background and historic information in each room which I enjoyed reading. There is a cafe for drinks or lunch and a church you could have a look round. Also there is a woodland walk which looks to give amazing views of the exterior. We vowed to try this another time as that is open and accessible to the public. I found the entrance fee slightly expensive as it only takes 1-2 hours maximum so isn’t a full day out. We were happy to pay it and glad we did but we probably wouldn’t again. I also think the price may put off some people especially with families which is a shame. But overall we really enjoyed looking round the castle we’re very lucky to have such a lovely piece of history on our doorstep.

Our one hour canal trip promises you a guided tour that's fun, informative and relaxing, whatever the weather. Your guide for the canal tour is award-winning comedian Dave Spikey of Phoenix Nights and 8 Out of 10 Cats fame. With his characteristic Northern patter, Dave takes you on a whistle-stop tour of Skipton and canal history that's refreshingly different to your average commentary. For a longer boat experience, we offer a variety of private charters. Enjoy a ploughman’s lunch or afternoon tea perhaps, or join us on one of our fish and chip cruises or brewery tours, as you sail sedately through the Yorkshire countryside. With over 30 years of boat trips we’ve helped lots of satisfied people enjoy a cruise, a meal, celebrate a special occasion, or simply show them the ropes before they set off on their own adventure. So place your Skipton canal trip in our capable hands. We take extra care before, during and after your booking to make your experience more enjoyable.

This hall and gardens is at the end of a winding road that is a dead end which is full of plants, trees, small lake and steams and lawns. Worth a visit even if it's just the getting there and back.

I don’t go anywhere else. Friendly staff that are very helpful. Love the interior. You can keep those modern soulless cinemas in the cities. This place has a soul. It’s part of my community. If you are visiting Skipton visit this place. You will not regret it.

Very lucky to have the opportunity to visit inside the church on our brief stay. Made to feel very welcome. Beautiful stained glass windows. There was a beautiful wooden archway inscribed with interesting facts down through the ages. Erected about a thousand years ago. Amazing
