Located in the center of the Leeward Islands, on the sacred island of Raiatea, "Destination Lagon" offers nautical excursions and personalized activities to discover the lagoon of Raiatea and Tahaa. These two islands are simply unavoidable in organizing your trip and our team will be happy to help you discover them. Small capacity and new boats.

The largest and most important religious site in Polynesia features the ancient temple area located on the edge of a huge lagoon.
Who would think in the middle of what felt like no where there is this incredible spot. It is an UNESCO site. It the most culturally important site for the entire Polynesian triangle which includes areas as far away as Easter Island, Hawaii and New Zealand. There are signs to read. I recommend a tour guide if you can. We had a guide whose grandmother was part of the team to reconstruct the site. See this site while you can as the ocean waters are already encroaching some of the sacred spots.

Te Mara Nui is above all a dive center that has been present for many years on Raiatea. No matter the level of the practitioners, our rich and preserved lagoon offers us a wide choice of diversified dives: drifting dives, dives on coral drop offs, wrecks or ocean dives ... Tourists or residents, we can take you on an excursion on Tahaa or Raiatea: compose your excursion with family or friends with the advice of your guide. Discovery of motus, snorkeling in a coral garden, visit of local productions (distillery, pearl farm, vanilla plantation), picnic, ... in half day or full day. Raiatea and Tahaa have riches to make you discover ... and we will be happy to share them with you!

We were fortunate to visit on a day when we were the only ones there (thanks for something COVID). Summer is an American ex-pat who has lived in Raiatea for 20 years. She is very passionate about the pearl farming business. Gave us a great demonstration on grafting and pearl production. To those who don't think the pricing was good, you have to understand pearl grading to understand pricing, and I dare anyone who is not an expert in peals to do their own grading. It would be like you trying to grade your own diamonds. Yes, you can find cheaper jewelry in markets, but the quality of the pearls is where the difference in price is. We were able to buy a pair of very nice earrings with a unique color for what we felt was a very reasonable price. We compared what we bought with lots of other pearls during our trip and we definitely got a good deal. The snorkeling around the farm is the best we saw anywhere in French Polynesia.
