• 3km ice skating trail in the middle of the forest • snowshoeing and walking on designated trails • outdoor camp fire, drinks & snacks at our chalet • 45min from Ottawa, next to the Gatineau Park • special programs for schools and companies
Love this place! Well worth the 50 minute drive from downtown Ottawa and the reasonable entrance fee (13$ per adult per day and you can stay as long as you like). Friendly staff. Heated cabin for changing into skates and buying hot chocolate. Gorgeous 3km winding trail (a loop) through a forest including lovely birch trees, birds and squirrels. We did it twice. Benches for resting and taking selfies along the way. Short cuts if you want your loop to end faster. Very well maintained ice. So smooth! This place is going to become a regular destination for us. We will bring our out-of-town guests here too for a unique winter experience. We were fortunate to go on a mild sunny day. It was simply magical! Dress warmly though (it’s a bit colder there than in downtown Ottawa!) And bring cash (or a debit card as there is an ATM on the premises!)

20 minutes from downtown Ottawa, this lake has two sandy beaches patrolled by lifeguards.
Beautiful and very peaceful place if you are lucky enough to get there early in the morning as it could get very crowded later in the day. The lake is so serene, the fall colors in full bloom are amazing. This is a must visit for hikers, nature lovers and photographers.

This vast and scenic Ottawa park is ideal for walking, biking or cross-country skiing and also houses the MacKenzie King Estate, once the home of Canada's former Prime Minister.
A must to visit! Gatineau park is just beautiful. Close to Ottawa, with so many lakes including Pink lake (green), trails, wildlife, breathtaking views especially from Belvèdere where you can see as far as the Outaouais River. Good variety of restaurants (Chelsea) it does not matter the season of the year, each one is unique in its own way. In Autunm enjoy the colors is just magic!!! My favorite place in the Outaouais.

Experience Canada’s history in exciting new ways. The Canadian Museum of History is a destination of choice in the National Capital Region. An architectural jewel designed by Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal, the Museum is less than five minutes from downtown Ottawa and Parliament Hill. Explore Canada’s rich history and the outstanding achievements of First Peoples. Marvel at the world’s largest indoor collection of totem poles. The Canadian History Hall, our signature exhibition, will let you discover the events, personalities and historical currents that have shaped Canada — from time immemorial to the present day.
We were here twice during the last four days, returning today for the special Neanderthal exhibition that opened today. It is outstanding, but the special “Unceded” exhibition, focusing on indigenous North American architecture, is also excellent. The two floors of Canadian history are a great improvement on what was available for view when this was still the Museum of Civilization. The Grand Hall offers the best selection of Northwest Pacific art and artifacts this side of the B.C. Provincial Museum in Victoria, and the Museum of Anthropology on the UBC campus in Vancouver. It leads into the “First Peoples” exhibition, which is also well worth your while. A special treat is the complete collection of Canadian and British North American postage stamps. Highly recommended!
