Skyline Hawaii - Haleakala

Built in 2002, Skyline’s Haleakalā 5-line Haleakalā zipline tour was the first commercial zipline in the country, and, according to Fodor’s Travel, was the Most Amazing Zipline in the World in 2016. Guests zip over 90-foot drops, reach speeds of over 45 mph on Hawaii’s only pendulum line, and experience an Indiana-Jones style swinging bridge between lines. If you’re looking for a more serene option, our Haleakalā Classic Sunrise Tour offers edge-of-the-world views in all directions near the peak of Hawaii’s most storied volcano at the break of day in Haleakalā National Park, the #1 visitor attraction on Maui. See the best of Maui from the sky with our expert—and hilarious!—guides, trained for 80 hours (twice the industry standard) on safety, the island’s rich culture and history, and its delicate ecosystem. Other tour options include a Haleakalā Sunrise & Zip; a Sunrise, Downhill Bike & Zip, and a Waterfall, Hike & Zip Tour.

Thompson Ranch Riding Stables

Reviewed By glutenfreesouthsea - Boston, United States

We visited Thompson Ranch on our last day in Maui and went on their morning ride. 2 other people were supposed to ride with us but they were concerned about the steep rocky terrain, so it ended up being a private ride. The horses are so well cared for and loved, and the family was really nice and careful about who could ride their horses (not over 200 pounds, for instance.) We has a great 3 hour ride with Andrea, from the barn at 4000 ft up to their cabin at 6000 feet. Gorgeous views when we weren’t in the clouds, but being in the clouds on horseback was amazing too. Loved the entire experience! We would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a small group horseback ride in the mountains of Maui!

No Ka Oi Protea Farm

Amazing! Reordering will be a must! I ordered on-line for my mom's birthday. They arrived perfectly packaged and on perfectly on time! We just can't believe how unique and gorgeous this arrangement is! Mom loves all the greenery and can't stop looking at this arrangement! She did get other flowers for her birthday and these proteas make them look so boringly average, even though they are very pretty on their own. I did my research on other protea sites but this one kept standing out. This large arrangement was also very reasonably priced, especially compared to other sites. You can stop looking and once you've found No Ka Oi Protea Farm!

Haleakala National Park

Reviewed By robertdX4400QY - Oahu, United States

Towering over the island of Maui and visible from just about any point, Haleakala Crater is a force of nature in every sense. At 10,023 feet above sea level, this dormant volcano is the stage for a breathtaking range of landscapes—and skyscapes. Haleakala means "house of the sun" in Hawaiian, and legend goes that the demigod Maui lassoed the sun from its journey across the sky as he stood on the volcano’s summit, slowing its descent to make the day last longer. Many visitors wake up early to drive to the Haleakala Visitor Center, the best spot to watch what may be the most spectacular sunrise on earth. As the sun peeks over the horizon, an ever-changing swirl of color and light dance across the vast sea of clouds—a sight described by Mark Twain as “the most sublime spectacle I have ever witnessed.” Perhaps just as impressive are Haleakala’s sunsets and the bright, starry skies revealed at night. Remember, the National Park Service now requires a reservation for personal and rental vehicles to view the sunrise from the summit district. Your reservation is for parking at the summit and doesn’t include the required national Park entry fee. Drive times from Kaanapali and Wailea to reach the summit average 2 hours. Sunrises and sunsets are only two of the many reasons to pay Haleakala National Park a visit on your trip to Maui. Spanning more than 30,000 acres of public land, the stunning landscapes range from Mars-like red deserts and rock gardens near the summit to lush waterfalls and streams in the park’s coastal Kipahulu section, near Hana. There are numerous hiking trails that offer solitude and scenic vistas, while guided hikes and horseback rides provide an expert's insight in addition to the natural beauty. There are more endangered species here than any other park in the National Park Service, like blooming ahinahina (silversword) and nene (Hawaiian goose), the state bird. Visitors can also camp here, with separate campgrounds and cabins available.

Chez Klio -Maui Cooking Class

Reviewed By JudyG1227

This was the second all-day class (9-3:30 ish) we have taken and the instruction and facilities, combined with Chef Yasko's expertise were outstanding.. We were welcomed with an apple pastry and coffee or tea while we reviewed the menu. Our class made Oven roasted Kule Pork Salad,Yunnanish tofu,Lilikoi pork ribs, and steamed buns. Each of had our own complete station with all the necessary specialty ingredients and utensils. The Chef's prep for this was amazing and while we sometime each had 7-10 ingredients, the work areas were beautifully organized and never became cluttered or messy. It's difficult to explain just how beautifully this class was organized. Every utensil was immaculate, every knife sharp, every ingredient fresh. There were five of us in this group along with Chef and a helper. We've taken classes all over the world and Chez Klio is certainly among the best.

The day we went was rainy, but the service and amazing staff 100% made up for that. There is a beautiful little home space where you can sit and enjoy snacks before your tour. Paige is an amazing artist, and her pictures are on display around the room. You are given some background of the ranch by the lovely staff while your guide sets up your horses. Then you saddle up, (your horse is not given to you randomly, the guide will give you one based off your size and comfort level) and begin the tour. Unlike other tours I have been on before, this one is much more wild, instead of being on a road like path, you go on more wild trails. The owners of the ranch also have free-range cattle so you get to see the cows up close on your tour. You stop halfway through and the tour guide takes a picture (not necessary, of course) and then you complete your tour. As well as an amazing ranch they also own a burger stand, (remember the cattle?) which I heard was amazing. They are open Tuesday through Sunday. This experience was one of my best in Maui; I 100% recommend!

They had goat babies and adults and it was soooo much fun. The yoga instructor was soothing and the goat owner was so nice. There was even live music by Richard a local Hawaiian born and raised. Watching the sunset with the beautiful landscape and the energetic goats was a once in a lifetime opportunity! The goats do nibble on things during practice not limited to clothes, hair, mats lol. But their cuteness makes you forget the nibbling after all they are in their natural habitat and you are not. I’d recommend renting a mat even if you have one because accidents happen and it does make everyone laugh.
