As a lad brought up in the 50's and worked in the shearing sheds of many old homesteads the perfumes from the roses, flowers and the privet hedges, instantly take you back to bygone days, the vista when you walk through the gates is over whelming, take the guided tour or just walk around, the history grabs you, take your lunch or buy it on open days and sit back and enjoy, well worth a visit or two

Grape Farm Winery is a small family tended vineyard located in its own breath taking natural amphitheatre in the Pyrenees wine region. Established in 1976, the vineyard comprises ten acres of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, malbec, nebbiolo, pinot noir, sangiovese, semillon, riesling and chardonnay. Our Pyrenees inspired restaurant Zócalo is open for lunch on Saturday and Sundays, for special occasions and for small events by arrangement. Please ring to make a booking. We also have a cosy 1 bedroom fully self contained cottage for short or long term stays.
As a group of 4 people we sat on the deck and took in the spectacular view and the tapas style food was outstanding. The atmosphere was very welcoming and genuine. Definitely worth a visit

Visiting Wimmera Hills Winery was a most enjoyable experience and one I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys wine tasting. Jane and Ben are to be commended on providing us with in depth and wonderful experience. Ben, who has a passion for creating and making a variety of wine and distilling gin, gave us an excellent commentary on the processes he uses to produce his fine products. Jane then provided us with an delicious platter of gourmet food that exquisitely complimented our wine and gin tasting. We thank you both for your hospitality and for sharing your knowledge and talents with us. If you’d like a similar experience please book an appropriate time and allow a few hours for this wonderful experience. An ‘yes’ be ready to take one wine and gin home with you. Thank you again, Jane and Ben.

After two very ordinary tasting experiences at other big wineries we were elevated by the quality wines, the cellar door design and the delightful staff member. Highly recommended- we joined the wine club and look forward to lots of that gorgeous rose!

*Bookings are required for all cellar door visits. For more information, please view https://www.taltarni.com.au/bookings/. Taltarni Vineyards is one of the pioneering wineries of Victoria's Pyrenees, dedicated to making exceptional wines from the unique terroir of the region. Taltarni Vineyard and Winery was founded on the principles of individuality, independence and expression, which still guide them today. Utilising innovative new-world techniques, Taltarni produces a diverse range of high-calibre still red and white wines and methode-traditionnelle crafted sparklings. Located in the heart of the picturesque Pyrenees, Taltarni's vineyard is surrounded by rolling hills. Enjoy a wine tasting in the cellar door, relax by the fire in winter or out on the alfresco area in the warmer months.
I had planned a day trip for Saturday of the recent Labour Day weekend with several wineries and a lunch in the Pyrenees Wine region of Victoria. (See other my other reviews) Each of the wineries i chose had been rated 5 stars by Halliday a few years ago, and as such i suppose i expect the experience to reflect this. Taltarni Wines did not disappoint. After some other experiences that had not quite hit the mark, it was nice to end the day with this winery. The member of staff at the cellar door was working solo but still managed to juggle the needs of multiple groups of people seamlessly. Her knowledge of the product could not be flawed and offered the right amount of hospitality you expect from a well known (& Halliday rated) vineyard. With around 20 competing vineyards in this region you need to get it right if you expect the public to recommend you over others. I would certainly return to Taltarni on a future visit to the region & happily left with several bottles of wine on this occasion.
