Well worth the visit. Drive up in the morning or late afternoon. We stayed the night in the village in a house with a boulder in it, excellent price. Watch the sunset from a boulder. Then in the morning walk up to the castle before it gets to hot & touresty. Loved our time there. People very friendly.

The day we visited, it was cold, windy and showery but well worth the visit. The castle on top of the hill is the gem. There is parking just below the ruined castle, so it is only a short walk but quite steep. Once at the top the view of the surrounding area is superb even on a grey day. It's a pity that ALL of the notices etc about the history are only in Portuguese.

Wow, such a beautiful river beach situated in Central Portugal part of Vila de Rei area, great facilities for bathers, families, campers (shower and WC facilities), river beach bar offering a wide range of meal deals, drinks, snacks, ice creams, life guard on duty at all times during open season 15th June to 15th September. Recently addition made of easy access walkway to the waterfalls which are tucked away in a beautiful part of this amazing place. Many trails available for those who love a scenic walk. Pets welcome too. If you are passing this beautiful part of Central Portugal a dip is recommended and total enjoyment is guaranteed.

A superb place n the center of the city. Tranquil, filled with the air of history and its epoch, it is a perfect spot to come and visit. You can just sit and meditate there, or explore the symbolism of the sculptures around the garden.
