I spent 2 weeks in Monteverde working on a coffee farm and Andres was my contact for taxis, trips and activities. He was full of good knowledge about the area and gave great recommendations on what to do! It was really easy to contact him and every trip and activity I booked was organised really well with no hassle. It’s great to use and support a local family run business. I would recommend using Faro Travel while in the area!

Hidden Valley Permaculture Farm

Reviewed By patrickmD3116MM - Toronto, Canada

The Hidden Valley Permaculture Farm is located at the Monteverde Inn and is fully integrated with the Escondido Preserve. This tour provides some wonderful insights into practical techniques for achieving sustainability. It is interesting, educational and very encouraging to see how they are addressing the challenge of maintaining a comfortable hotel environment while reducing the impact on the natural environment. Obviously there's much more to the story than can be described in a short review and I can only say that we found the afternoon fascinating. I believe they may be considering some educational programs and, based on this tour, we'd certainly consider making a special trip if they do!!

Santa Elena Skywalk

Half way between the town of Santa Elena and the Santa Elena Preserve the Sky Walk is located: This complex use trails, suspension bridges for a more tranquil introduction to the ecology and natives of the forest canopy, constructed within the cloud forest. It allows a vision of the forest from a different perspective which starts with a walk on the ground taking you up to explore the treetops, a hardly discovered habitat, called the “canopy” with a naturalist guide. Also discover the night wildlife at our Sky Walk Night Tour.

While staying in Monteverde don’t miss the Sky Tram that will lead you up to the Continental Divide and to one of the highest mountains in the area. Sky Tram is a guided tour where you can have the opportunity to observe the cloud forest outstanding biodiversity, the majestic Arenal Volcano and the Nicoya Gulf. The Sky Trek’s zip lines go from mountain to mountain, allowing you fly through a cable at speeds up to 40 miles per hour and heights of over 520 feet. There are also 5 observation towers that surpass the cloud forest treetops, providing amazing panoramic views our company has a braking system that was superior to what I'd experienced in other places. The zip linesthemselvesare long and fast, when the clouds cleared, we were able to see the ocean, which was amazing. It is a really great experience.

Monteverde Extremo Park

Has one of the most beautiful views of the area and the country in terms of rainforest refers, you will see this during the tour with our extreme activities; mixing the majesty of these along with the extreme adventure of reaching the highest altitudes and admire the rich natural beauty of the forest and its treasures. You will feel excitement and emotions when you enjoy bungee jumping, mega tarzan, the giant rappel and superman and fantastic distances of each of the cables, the longest 3400 feet long and 600 feet high. When it comes up to adrenaline, height, dizziness and extreme emotions there are those who are brave that will come and join; on the other hand, there is those who are less convinced that they can try something different; and we can never miss these who are friends of the brave ones and go almost forced. True?? Well no matter which category you are, the important thing is that at the end of the day nothing is more enjoyable than the famous “adventure tourism”
