The water around Ishigaki is pure blue, with white sandy beaches to soothe your senses. But don't just stand on the beach and stare. Travelers recommend a ride in a glass-bottomed boat to gaze at the coral reefs and tropical fish from above.

I feel that I am in a wonder land. I went there twice during my stay in Ishigaki Island. There are many bus routes coming to Kabira bay from Bus Terminal and the schedule is pretty frequent. There are shops, restaurants, view point, rest room and many more. Very convenient and safe place for solo traveler :)

Kabira Bay park is gorgeous! There several little shops and restaurants, little trails to explore, view points and a glass bottom boat ride that you can take here. Kabira Bay Park is one of the most beautiful, tropical places in Japan to visit. You'll be able to take all sorts of wonderful photos at Kabira Bay with the beautiful blue water as you back drop. We also took a glass bottom boat ride while were here and it was outstanding! The boat was clean and the windows on the boat were also clean to be able to see into the water. We saw all sorts of awesome things - lots of fish, including clown fish, lion fish, sea turtles, a sea snake, eel, and small shark! Maybe it was just our lucky day, but this was the best glass bottom boat ride we've ever had anywhere in the world.

The bus run 3 times a day from bus terminal meaning I needed to spend 5 hours here to wait for another bus to go back to my hotel near bus terminal. The traveling time took over 90 minutes. I feel grateful to decide to come here as the scenery is fantastic. Actually, the view when I first arrived was far more beautiful than this. Once arrived, I spent time eating my lunch box and enjoyed the view then when I am done with my lunch, the cloud arrived and everything gets darker.

We drove thru the park and stopped at a few of the observation towers to see the great view of the island. We took the Segway tour which was very interesting.

Entrance is only 1000 JPY. For that you can see a local cultural show, monkeys and century-old houses. You can also wander around the mangroves. There is a cafe with tasty soba and adequate toilet facilities. Best accessible by car but there is a bus stop nearby.
