Hidden Lake

A superb fishing lake where catching 20-inch fish is common.

This is a very crowded hike but the views and wildlife make this trail worth it. Most of the hike is uphill on boardwalks and the views, streams, snow, mountain goats, bighorn sheep and occasionally a grizzly make this hike really cool.

Flathead Lake

This was one of the prettiest places I have ever visited. The water is cold and amazingly clear. The views all around are gorgeous. There is a paved highway all around the lake with many places to stop and sightsee. We had a great afternoon flying a kite at a lakeside park.

Kootenai Falls & Swinging Bridge

Stunning views and a suspension bridge. What more could you ask for? Highly recommend. But ... not an easy hike. About a quarter of a mile from the parking lot ... over rocks, boulders, and tree roots. Plus a covered railroad crossing that has 3.5 flights of stairs. Plus a steep drop to the river. Remember ... it is all uphill on the way back. But ... highly recommended.

Glacier National Park

Spent 4 days exploring and not nearly enough. From relaxing at the lake, canoeing, kayaking, driving the Going to the Sun Road and enjoying the magnificent views, hiking, rapid river rafting, and fishing. There is plenty to do for all ages. Surrounding town has plenty to offer too. Too bad 1/4 of the park is closed due to COVID but it was still a fun trip for us. We stayed in town, Kalispell, and drive in everyday. It was only a 30-40 minute drive with plenty of scenic views.

Flathead National Forest

A scenic hiking area which offers berrypicking.

Reviewed By CATTSAR - Provincetown, United States

This is one of my favorite all seasons playgrounds. On this particular visit it was the setting of a winter adventure. It was a perfect day to be out on the snow cat on trails in the back country. Surrounded by tall pines and towering cliff it is Montana at its finest. We finished the rides with a trip to Tally Lake, an amazing gem in the western part of the forest. Tally Lake has the distinction of being the deepest lake in Montana registering at about 500 feet. Of the many other activities available throughout the year~ hiking, boating camping and swimming are just to name a few.

Highway 12

A 100-mile scenic drive.

Reviewed By rl659 - Chandler, United States

My friend and I met some people at Grizzly Harley Davidson who recommended Lolo Pass. It was an awesome ride along the river for about 100 miles. The road was well maintained and there wasn't much traffic. There were plenty of paved pull offs to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There was a very nice rest area at the state line so we could get photos of both Montana and Idaho signs. We thought it was very interesting that only Montana warned motorcycles of the curves because they continued well into Idaho!! It was a great day but I would not recommend this full ride for beginners unless you take a few breaks along the way.

A Carousel for Missoula

THE CAROUSEL IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO HELP STOP THE SPREAD OF COVID19. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING, AND PLEASE STAY SAFE. This beautiful carousel, completed in 1995, was the brainchild and vision of a local Missoula cabinet-maker, who carved much of the structure himself and also trained an enthusiastic team of volunteers to assist in the project.

Reviewed By 749sierras - Wichita, United States

Want to feel like a child again??? Get on this beautifully restored carousel!!!! But be warned, this is not a ride for the faint of heart. One of the fastest carousels in the world, it spins at a heart racing 8mph!!! (Yes, they provide seat belts) Be sure to grab for the brass ring as you spin around... it's one of the only carousels in the world that still let's you win a prize!!!
