Vasudhara Falls is in Badrinath, Uttarakhand. A trek of around 7 km from Mana Village will take you to this mesmerizing waterfall. You will experience the Breath taking views of mountains and small glaciers on some patches of this trek. It will take around 2.5 hrs to reach the waterfall from Bhimpul, Mana. There are no shops so do carry enough water and food with you for this trek.

This is the highest Lord Shiva Temple, situated at 14000 mtrs. above sea level and is also known as fourth Kedar at Chopta.. The climb is steep and tiring although only 3.5 kms... but the satisfaction you get after taking darshan is very mesmerizing.. You can take horse also for reaching the temple... the priests here are very polite and not there to rob you of your pocket...Amazing views of mountains and scenery will keep you spellbound during your trek to Temple.. Sight's are truly to behold... the experience cannot be described here in words... A MUST visit for All...

My Hemkund Sahib Yatra with a local jatha in July was truly a remarkable experience. Day 1 : Mumbai - Dehradoon - Srinagar :- Yatris gathered at the Mumbai airport on the beautiful early morning of July pregnant with monsoon. Wearing the identical Tee shirts & patkas provided in the Travel Kit by the Jatha not only looked outstanding on the Yatris but also helpful to the Veers, performing distribution of breakfast kits, to identify these yatris amongst the general passengers at the waiting lounge of the Mumbai airport. The delicious breakfast served was just a start for the mouth watering food which was unfailingly served all along the yatra. The flight to Dehradoon was full , occupied majorly by the yatris. The Jaikaras by the Sangat energised the emotions in the airplane's cabin, setting the tone for the seven day spiritual journey. The logistics of the yatra was a reliable event due to dedicated Bus's / Seat's / Hotel room's numbers being handed over to yatris in advance. Greeted by mild rains on landing at Dehradoon airport, Yatris were quickly transported in waiting mini buses to a large banquet hall in Ranipokhari ,a distance of four kms from Dehradoon airport ,for lunch Langar Seva organised by the local jatha. After Lunch ,melodious kirtan presentation & felicitation of sewadars ,Yatris commenced the onward travel of 100+ kms for an overnight stay at Hotel Chhahat / River Side Resort in Srinagar over looking the beautiful Alaknanda river. The landscape during this uphill journey to Srinagar is both beautiful & enchanting, making one feel like floating in the monsoon clouds. The non stop sight & sound of the dancing river all along the journey is another event which remains etched in the memory. Arriving in evening at Hotel Chhahat in Srinagar , yatris were served piping hot langar seva of dinner ,while kirtan followed by a lucky draw was parallely being conducted. The atmosphere was full of joy, happiness and anticipation for the forward journey of the next day to Govind Ghat. After a full tummy & tiredness of bus travel the well appointed airconditioned hotel rooms were a major relief & a welcome sight to the Yatris. Day 2: Srinagar - Pipakkoti - Govind Ghat :- The day started with an amazingly elaborate 5 am breakfast / Kirtan program at Hotel Chhahat , since Yatris had to reach Pipalkoti an uphill distance of 100+ kms for brunch. At Pipalkoti brunch was mouth watering in addition to very clean toilet facilities available. Thereafter by the grace of Waheguru Ji , onward journey of 50+ kms to Govind Ghat was completed by 2 pm or so due to absence of land slides ( a common occurrence on this stretch ) & clear open gate access at Joshimath. Hotel Check in was smooth at Govind Ghat . Thereafter Yatris have a choice to visit the town of Badrinath ( 25 kms ) & be back by sunset or alternatively spend time in Govind Ghat , admiring the beauty of the striking alakhnanda river & the spiritualness at the Govind Ghat Gurudwara Sahib & there after night stay. Day 3: Govind Ghat - Ghangaria ( Govind Dham ) :- At 6.30 am after the Ardaas at the Govind Ghat Gurudwara Sahib , most of the Yatris start the onward journey to Govind Dham located in Ghangaria a distance of thirteen kms by foot. Out of the thirteen kms the first four km stretch i.e. upto Pulna is a motorable road which can be covered by shared SUV's or by foot . Horses , Palkis can be hired at Pulna for the onward journey of eight kms to Govind Dham. Yatris also have the option to fly from Govind Ghat upto Gobind Dham by a 2-3 minutes of helicopter ride. However helicopter service has weight limit of luggage & is not available during rains or fog which is quiet common feature. All the Yatris reach Govind Dham by Lunch hour & check in at the dedicated Hotels. Afternoon the day is spent at Govind Dham with kirtan, path & Langar at the Gurudwara Sahib & also enjoying , exploring the local landscape thereafter. Langar seva of excellent dinner takes place in the hotel. Day 4: Govind Dham - Hemkund Sahib Ji - Govind Dham / Govind Ghat :- This is the most important day -To reach Hemkund Sahib Ji located at 15200 feet .Yatris start the journey from Gobind Dham between 5 to 6 am for a constantly delightful steep uphill walk of six kms .Oxygen levels are lower than normal at such heights which is the reason that everyone has to start the descend by 2 pm back to Govind Dham on same day. There are Horses & Palkis available at Govind Dham for Hemkund Sahib Ji for Yatris who do not wish to walk up. On arrival at Hemkund Sahib ji be prepared to be looking at the most beautiful sight on earth - Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib Ji at the edge of the enchanting Sarovar surrounded by seven Hills. Celebrating their arrival with a dip in the super chilled waters of the sarovar , Yatris then get immersed in the melodious kirtan at Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib Ji followed by the much deserved delicious though simple langar & Tea. After darshan , Yatris start the descent & reach Govind Dham by late afternoon for a small break & then majority of Yatris start the onward journey for a night stay at Govind Ghat. Yatris who stay back at Govind Dham have to leave early morning the next day for Govind Ghat. Dinner & stay facilities are available at both Govind Dham & Govind Ghat as per Yatris real time location. Day 5:Govind Dham / Govind Ghat - Srinagar Yatris still at Govind Dham, start the journey to Govind Ghat at 5 in the morning to join the batch of Yatris already reached the previous evening , to eventually catch the Bus heading for return journey home. After a small ,but very high on religious sentiments, Nagar Kirtan followed by Aardaas at Govind Ghat, all Yatris board the buses by 11 am . Lunch break enroute to Hotel Chhahat / River Side Resort ( Srinagar ) is at Pipalkoti. Arrival at Hotel Chhahat / River Side Resort is early evening followed by lip smacking snacks , dinner & light entertainment. Day 6: Srinagar - New Delhi The day starts with a rich & impressive 5 am breakfast at Hotel Chhahat / River Side Resort. Lunch break enroute to Delhi is at astonishing Gurudwara Sahib at Rishikesh. Arrival at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in Delhi is early evening. This journey was an life altering experience which also earned me a spiritual , meaningful & some light hearted conversations with so many of Co Yatris.

It is a Religious Shrine of Lord Vishnu & One of Most Religious Pilgrimage in Char Dham Yatra. It is Located in Chamoli District of Uttarakhand at a elevation of 3,133 mts. We at Uttarakhand Holidays provide all Kind of Services During Badrinath Yatra to the Pilgrimages.
Of all 4 dhams I must say with certainity I found Badrinath most beautiful. Gangotri-Gaumukh is at second place for me. Badrinath is vast open beautiful picture postcard landscape with wide beautiful valley view, and awesome pilgrimage + sightseeing route through Mana Village to Vasudhara Falls. There are hot water kunds near main temple called Tap Kund and Narad Kund latter being closer to river Alaknanda. The temple darshan however is highly restricted these days. You get darshan from window of temple outer wall from where you see the Lord some 10-15 feet away sadly. Only those who pay for special pujan and darshans are allowed inside the temple. Darshan queue can be huge May-Jun and can take 2-6 hours. Other places to visit are Mana Village through there Nar-Narayan temple on one side and on other Saraswati-Alaknanda rivers sangam, Lord Ganesha-Ved Vyas caves, Mansarovar Stream, Bhim Pul, Saraswati River, Saraswati Temple, Draupadi Temple. These are within 1.5-2.5 kms walk in same area around Mana village. And finally Vasudhara Falls from Saraswati & Draupadi temples endpoint of Manaa 5-6 kms further trek up the glaciers. See my reviews on these places. See my review for Vasudhara Falls for details of trek! Darshan closes by 9.30 PM night!

Auli stay was like staying in heaven. Not to miss the gorson Trek from auli. it’s a fun Trek with meadows on top of the mountain. For the gorson Trek, we did the chair cable first then we did the trek. The trek is about 3 km , with gentle slopes to Trek in the open meadows , through the alpine forest , passing the cows grazing n horses grazing, passing the bells tingling around the cows neck, little ponds on the way, a little temple n finally reaching on top to the open meadows. It was like Switzerland n truly beautiful. On top , saw the clouds coming in and you feel like your walking on the clouds. Beautiful weather, cool n windy. Sometimes sunny sometimes cloudy. Glad we didn’t get the rains. Passed by mountain goats n mountain dogs. Saw vultures on top of the mountain feeding on cow carcass. Heard the loud neighs of the horses. Just a wonderful must do trek to enjoy beauty all around.

Sking in Auli is an amazing out of the world experience and one which was on my bucket list. Mastering slopes, gravity, snow and the mountain has its own thrill and adventure. We (me and my brother) had a great time bonding in Auli amongst the Himalayas and we learnt a few sking tricks as well. Uttarakhand is truly the Land of the Gods full of adventure and spirituality and Auli is the perfect spot to do both. Auli has great views of the Nanda Dei, Neelgiri, Gouri/Hathi, Nar Parvat , Barmal and Berthatoli. The sunrise and sunsets are amazing nature shows which are not to be missed. The peace and tranquility and the quality of air is simply divine and fit for the abode of the Gods. The GMVN (Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam) the tourist body of Uttarakhand organizes Sking courses from January to March every year at the Auli Ski & Snowboard School. Two types of courses are offered Certificate course of 7 days and Advanced course of 14 days. These are some of the best Sking courses on offer anywhere in the world with great instructors, equipment, ski slopes and Sking infrastructure. The instructors are very competent and endeavor to give you a great sking experience. The courses are amongst the most economical way of learning or practicing sking. For a similar course one will end up spending at least 10 times more in other countries/places. The GMVN courses are fully residential with basic heated accommodation on shared basis and all meals included. The meals are tasty, wholesome, nourishing and the staff takes great care of you. My mouth is watering even thinking about the amazingly tasty simple meals. The meals are mostly Vegetarian but once or twice during the course they also offer eggs and chicken. The Ski resort also has a good bar and a Restaurant serving Veg and non Veg fare. Depending upon the occupancy and availability at the Ski resort you may opt for room upgrades on additional payment. Laundry service is available on special request. No previous knowledge of sking is required. The only prerequisite being adequate physical fitness. Sking demands physical (and mental) fitness. Thus at least 30 days before arriving in Auli strengthen your leg muscles and ensure that your body is flexible and agile. Jogging, cycling, swimming, trekking are good preparatory exercises. To reach Auli it is best to arrive in Rishikesh by evening/night day before and catch an early morning bus/taxi to Auli. There is a early morning GMVN bus directly from Haridwar/Rishikesh to Auli Ski Resort. Alternatively one can reach Joshimath and take the Gondola/taxi/bus to Auli. The road from Rishikesh to Joshimath is excellent three/four lane highway and you will get to see some of the most amazing sights including river confluences (prayag in Sanskrit). There is lot of wild life including bears, jackals and deers and we happened to sight jackals and hare on our way. Every turn throws up a new vista and there is always the river on one side and mountain on the other. A typical day at Ski course starts with bed tea at 7 am , breakfast at 8am , sking from 9 am to 2 pm followed by lunch and recreation. Tea at 5 pm and dinner at 8 PM. In the afternoon/evening one is free to explore Auli and surrounding and one can always go for beautiful walks or local sightseeing and shopping. Typically on the first day there are introductions and issue of equipment, familiarisation with the use of equipment (skis, Ski boots, Sticks, Ski goggles and gloves), familiarisation with the slopes and safety lessons. You may opt to carry your own Helmet, Goggles (UV protection) and gloves. Introduction to basic techniques of getting into the skis and out of them, standing with skis on, stopping/braking and moving with skis on are given including the most important techniques of falling down safely. Practice the braking and falling techniques to perfection as these are life savers [for you and others]. Safety first – learn and respect Slope, gravity and traction. A few safety tips • Please perform warm up exercises before getting onto the ski’s • Wear a Helmet to protect your Head. Believe me you need and yes use it. [Take your own helmet, goggles and gloves] • Know your limits, and the limits on the slope. • Follow the instructions of the instructors. They know the slopes and your capabilities better than you do. • Watch out for others on the slope. While you don’t own the slopes others believe they do! • Like Defensive driving practice defensive sking. Don’t speed up before achieving perfection in the art of braking on the slopes • Finally there are old skiers and there are bold skiers, but no bold old skiers. Second day is more of practising what we learnt on the first day with the introduction of turns and climbing up the slope. The falling technique is mostly perfected on this day. The ski sessions start at 9 am in the morning with assembly at Chair lift and go on till about 2 pm followed by Lunch and rest. A ski pass is given to each participant for unlimited use of Chair and Ski Lifts during the course. Third day practice and perfect what was learnt on day 1 and 2 and move on the steeper slopes and do longer ski runs. Training on how to get out of difficult situations. At the end of this day most get the sking basics and are able to move around on skis taking the turns and obstacles in their strides. The falling also starts reducing and you are now more on the skis than on the snow. The fourth day practice session gives you confidence to ski and now rarely the falling technique is needed. Your sking effort is also drastically reduced. From 5th days the instructors take a call to put you on the Ski Lift and escort you down from the middle of the slope to the base and by the end of the day you are sking from the top of the slopes under close supervision. 6th and 7th days are sheer joy of Sking and you adapt to the slopes and enjoy the thrill of sking. We went there in Jan 2019 and look forward to visiting again. Great place, great people, great hospitality. Happy Sking adventure P.S. In summer Ski lodge Auli is the base camp for treks to Gorson Meadows and Kuari Pass

Auli is a Himalayan ski resort and hill station in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. It’s surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, plus the Nanda Devi and Nar Parvat mountains.
Auli is a wonderful hill station which is at apprx 500 kms from Delhi.I prefer to visit this place during winters as it offers best of ski slopes and continuous ski slope of apprx 1.3 kms. One can travel from Delhi to Haridwar or Dehradun and from there one can take local buses or jeeps. This is the cheaper way of transportation and would cost around Rs 700/= to Rs 1000/= in 2019.There would be a requirement to change transport on the way as most of the buses and jeeps would not go all the way to auli. A more comfortable option is to hire a car/SUV upto Joshimath which would take apprx 10 hrs and cost Rs 7000-10,000/= .From Joshimath take another cab upto Auli which is a 14 km climb. This would cost another Rs 800/=.There is also provision of a cable car from Joshimath to Auli which takes around 20 minutes and offers a beautiful scenic view along the way. Now, for skiing, GMVN has a very well established facility at Auli with dedicated skiing courses for beginners to advanced skiing. These courses cost apprx Rs 15000 for 7 day course and apprx 37000 for 14 day course which includes ski equipment, training, accommodation and food for the duration. GMVN also has deluxe rooms which one can separately hire for Rs 4000-5000 per day.It does not snow very well every year at Auli nowadays view the global warming scenario. So ,it is very important to check from GMVN the snow condition prior to taking a skiing holiday as and not finding much snow to ski can be really disappointing.
