Like the kremlin, this monastery is surrounded by big white walls. The main church inside is beautiful, and I loved the decor.

Beautiful Yaroslavl style church with perfectly preserved colorful frescoes depicting the life of Elijah the prophet and the life during the 17th century. Has 5 blue green domes and a bell tower. Frescoes have scenes of weddings, animals and every day work. Also, there are pretty gardens around the church. Definitely must see church.

Yaroslavl Architectural Historical and Art Museum Preserve

Reviewed By Moskvichka12 - Moscow, Russia

The Kremlin in itself is a lovely place to walk or sit in the sunshine (40r), but there are also lots of museums to investigate. The history of Yaroslavl region is small but interesting, and the 'Yaroslavl Food' exhibition - a display of how Russians ate in the past - is very good. You can see the bear tey saved after her mother was killed, and even feed her seeds or fruit. But the best is climbing the bell tower for a fabulous view of the town. It's quite manageable for most people to climb. Each exhibition has a separate charge so you choose what you want to do. There are other exhibitions, souvenir shops and a cafe.
