We loved the museum. Gold coin donation....worth a bit more so chuck in some extra dollars. A correctional officer from the actual prison next door was on duty today and gave us a great insight into the lives of the prisoners both in the medium security complex the museum is connected to, as well as the minimum security prison ‘The Farm’ up the road. It was fascinating to to see some glimpses of past and present prison conditions in NSW. The actual ‘Trojan Horse’ used in a 1994 escape was pretty cool, as was bullet proof glass from Super Max and although grim....the collection of confiscated contraband was such an eye opener. Souvenir shop contains mountains of craft and hand made products from the inmates. At the end....the gallows....actual gallows. Crazy!

Courabyra wines is situated 8 km along Courabyra Rd. We have a cafe that serves regional and seasonal produce. The cellar door is set in a vineyard with stunning views. Wood fire for cozy dining on cold days and large veranda for summer dining. Sit back, relax, enjoy the food and our wines all year round
Easily worth 5hrs of driving from Sydney or Melbourne just to enjoy the wines and a meal from Courabyra. Stunning outlook over the vineyard and my ribs were just perfect pulled from the bone with no issue the sauce tasty but not overbearing and the mousse WOW

Birdsnest one of Australia's favouite online women's fashion stores and our one and only shopfront is in our beautiful hometown - Cooma. I can't speak highly enough of the offering of stock and the helpfulness of the staff, trying to be as flexible as possible. I think they try to keep offering pieces that are affordable for most, not items at the very expensive end nor at the very cheap/won't last end. I really am not able to get out to shop often and for me this service is perfect with the longest return program offered. It's my saviour and thy listen to my suggestions to any changes such as a minor change on a web page. This is an online website with a couple of fairly remote locations, so some of the questions are not really relevant.

Local tasting room for our distilled products including gin, Australian liqueurs and fruit liqueurs. Tasting platters and cocktails available
We popped in to the Pretty Parrot Distillery today on our tastings of Tumut and enjoyed a tasting from Dave - and nothing was too much trouble! We didn’t make a booking (sorry! ????) but Dave was more than accomodating. He gave us a run down on the makings of the beverages and where they got their inspiration from. The gins and liqueurs are deeeeelicious, which was obvious as all 8 in our group walked out with 3 bottles in tow! Congratulations on the silver medal in London, we will definitely be back and reordering our bottles online - Thanks again Dave! ????

The Raglan Gallery is a local Art Gallery situated in Lambie Street in Cooma NSW. Lambie Street was the first surveyed street in Cooma in the 1840's and a number of beautiful historic homesteads can be found. The Raglan Gallery in its past has been a Hospital, Inn, Bank and Family Home and is now an Art Gallery and Cultural Centre hosting around 8 exhibitions per year. There is a gift shop which year round has a great selection of cards, prints, pottery & jewellery to name but a few. After your visit why not take a leisurely stroll along the rest of Lambie Street, there is a historic booklet available at the Gallery and the Cooma Visitors Centre.

The Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre and cafe showcases the amazing history of the Snowy Mountains Scheme; from the early days of construction through to how it is operated by Snowy Hydro today. This is a must for any visitor to the Snowy Mountains region! The Centre houses a comprehensive exhibition hall including an extensive photographic collection, models, hands-on exhibits and a one of a kind immersive theatre. You will find information about the Scheme such as engineering, the environment, the National Electricity Market, history, water management and power generation. Take your turn on the “power bikes” and see if you can peddle hard enough to power a TV, make some toast or boil a kettle. You will also find screens displaying the Scheme working in real time. See which generators are operating, how much electricity they are producing and the prices of electricity in the market. Stay for a while, have a barista made coffee and light refreshments at the Discovery Centre Cafe.
Excellent Discovery Centre - showing 2 films, both very worthwhile and informative, combined with an excellent display. Learn about the exciting new Snowy 2.0 project. I spent a very enjoyable morning learning and revisiting memories. Staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and together with a Cafe making a great coffee - what more could you ask for.
