Penrith's AWARD WINNING independently owned bookshop in an 18th century building the center of town. Children's books are downstairs (accessible for prams) & grown up books upstairs. The shop is also open on Sundays 11:00 - 4:30 during the summer. We used to have a small vegan coffee shop, but this closed in September 2015 to make room for more books. It had excellent reviews here, so I'm sorry to disappoint fans, but in the end it really wasn't viable and expanding the bookshop made more sense & the book side of the business continues to thrive with a huge amount of local support (for which - thank you everyone!)

Unique as one of only four puppet theatres constructed in England, with puppeteers bridges for marionettes and a pit for working rod puppets from below. The site lines are great for children, with all the rows of seats on a steep rake, allowing children to see over adults. All of our productions are written, designed and produced in our own on site workshops,staged with full lighting and musical scores and appeal to all ages.
