We had a fantastic wine tasting session with friends. Jani the winemaker was very cheerful, he showed us around the facility, told a couple of nice and funny stories about his wine-maker life :) We took six fantastic bottle of wines and an awesome extra dry champaigne. Even in november, the weather was so nice, we took out tables to the sun and enjoyed the event outside. 5 stars, recommended to everybody coming to Eger :)

Our winery is in the heart of the Tokaj wine region in Hungary, just a few miles from Europe’s geometric centre. The Mád basin holds a special position in the world of winegrowing because of its unique soil, macroclimate, and microclimate. Settled as early as the 15th century, Mád is identified in ancient documents as a borough. It was a meeting point for barons, counts, lords, and wine merchants, making it a pivotal location for winegrowing and the wine trade. Holdvölgy operates on an area of twenty-seven hectares. Our estate is situated on twenty-two parcels within seven different vineyards in the best areas of the Mád basin. Our cellar is one of the oldest cellar systems in the region, with some sections dating back as far as the 16th century. Our cellar is also one of the longest, measuring 1.8 kilometers. The history of the winery started with a one-hectare birthday present. By 2006, the Estate had grown to twenty-six hectares. The goal was and still is to achieve the vision of
The quality of the winary and the brand the whole brand is extremely high. We has the impression like in Champaign France. The longest tour was amazing, exciting and thanks to Évi, we had a really friendly experience!

Egri Road – Beatles Museum is located in the heart of the historic town of Eger. Guests can get a glimpse of the life and career of the band by up-to-date technical solutions. Newsreels are played and the songs of the band can be listened to, whereas contemporary publications, garments and rarities are displayed. Games and photo-taking activities take the visitors back to the legendary sixties.
Even if this museum was in London or Liverpool it would be impressive. The owner, 50 something, began his collection at age 9. There is a very well-done 12 minute documentary before you begin your self-guided tour. We took our two children (3 and 6) and they loved it. You can play guitar, listen to music, watch videos and just gaze at all the cool Beatles stuff.

Just popped in to buy a bottle I knew from the night before. The guy in the bar was so friendly and showed a couple of wines just for fun, without even having to pay. Told us a lot about the vinery and gave us a great experience.

I absolutely loved this castle and the fairy garden around it. We went for a horse racing too just next to the castle. I especially liked the hungarian folk dancers show here.
