We tasted olive oils and vinegar at this cute little stop near Los Olivos, CA. There is nothing like freshly harvested olive oil. Lucky for us some of their oil was only harvested last week! Yum! Plus we loved their fig and strawberry vinegars, among others! Real taste treats! We also enjoyed seeing their caper plants they just planted! I love capers but I had never seen the plants! Can't wait for that harvest. We will be back!

If you like big reds, you’ll love this place! Boutique winery doing it right and featuring the local grapes with skill and yet restraint. This is my Syrah-happy place.

I love Artiste because not only is the wine delicious, the staff is so much fun! We always end up staying here for at least an hour. The other truly unique thing about Artiste is the bottles. Each blend has an artist painted (and then printed) label on an oversized bottle. They're beautiful! I bought a whole case of Inception for Christmas gifts! The also have an easel where you can paint while you taste....my very artistic boyfriend painted me a mermaid that now hangs on my wall :) Big hugs to Bion, Anna, and Roberto!

Atmosphere: large shady lawns with comfy couches; tables and chairs near tasting room Service: friendly Wine: excellent. We especially liked the 2017 barrel aged Pinot noir. These are quality wines - recommend sharing them with family and friends who truly appreciate fine wines. Be aware: reservations required for tastings; however, wine may be purchased by the bottle or glass without a reservation.

Established in 1973, Zaca Mesa is a family-owned and operated winery with a long-standing history in Santa Barbara County. As the first vineyard to plant Syrah in the area in 1978, Zaca Mesa has since helped pioneer the Santa Barbara Rhône movement through an unwavering dedication to Syrah and Rhône varietals. Combining traditional old-world winemaking practices with innovative farming and vineyard techniques, Zaca Mesa continues its legacy as a producer of high-quality California Rhône-style wines that are true reflections of the vineyard and appellation. We invite you to enjoy a tasting or glass of wine in our courtyard to experience the true beauty of our estate overlooking our vineyards and the San Rafael Mountains. Definitely recommend zaca Mesa for wine tasting in the Santa Ynez valley. Love their vognier and rose. A must do.

Situated on the celebrated Foxen Canyon Wine Trail. Visit our Estate Vineyard with picnic areas and unique private event spaces.
We have greatly enjoyed visiting Koehler over the past several years. Dan, the Wine Man is a hoot and always welcoming. This is a great place to take a picnic - the grounds are beautiful - there is plenty of room to move around and lots of tables and picnic benches. (A good place to visit in COVID times.)

We came up to los olivos on a short getaway during the pandemic and signed up for a wine tasting through our hotel. We didn’t know how the mandated changes would affect the experience. To be honest it was even better than the normal wine tasing. It was pleasant to be seated with the wines brought in a flight rather than poured. There was a very pleasant hostess who came around periodically to our table and answered any questions we had. She also gave some explanations about the vineyards. We, of course, bought wine. We hope that this form of wine tasting is continued in the future.
