Caktu Souvenirs

Visit Caktu in the Historic Center of La Paz. A lovely place where you can find souvenirs of Baja California Sur with a unique and artistic design. Souvenirs are objects that represent a place and help us to remember it with an object that treasures memories. Caktu transforms these memories in art inspired by the sunset and its colors, the magic of the sea and the enigmac desert.

Our tour guide Jay from Whale Shark Diaries had a really cool Caktu hat on. He told us about Caktu so we stopped in after our whale shark outing. Such a cute store with beautifully designed hats, cups, stickers and other items all original art from the owner of the shop. She was so nice and does such amazing designs. Really inexpensive and perfect souvenirs. A must stop in La Paz!

Informative museum detailing Mexico's rich history.

Reviewed By paisleygirl2015 - Paisley, Canada

I have visited this museum at least once a year in the 8 years I have been coming to La Paz. It keeps improving with every visit! In the most recent visit, today, I was delighted that they have seen fit to hire English-speaking docents for each floor of the 4 level museum. These enthusiastic and knowledgeable young people make the history of Baja California Sur come alive for me, as I have always found it a struggle to comprehend the Spanish-only signage. The first level houses a temporary exhibit, this time featuring a fine multi-media presentation of life at the San Francisco ranch, a remote ejido located near the great mural paintings of Sierra San Francisco. The other three levels exhibit Baja Sur's prehistory to present-day statehood. Thanks to the guides, I learned so much more of the Baja story. Well worth the time and the tiny entrance fee. I also noticed the addition of a stair rider for wheelchair accessibility. Good for you!
