Sleepy and secluded Friday Harbor is a tiny town with big personality and rich history. Small enough to walk from one end to the other, the coastal fishing village is dotted with picturesque turn of the century wood frame houses, historic storefronts, Coast Salish native carvings and not a stoplight in sight. Stroll through the Historic District, visit informative museums, explore the Port of Friday Harbor waterfront park and see the local populations of orcas and whales from the shore.

San Juan Community Theatre is a superlative venue for concerts, plays and more. Offering great views and acoustics from everywhere in the house, it's as intimate as it is professional. Enjoyed an amazing time, sold-out show, with the singular folk-rock legend Al Stewart (creator of "Roads to Moscow" and countless other brilliant songs) - and his band, The Empty Pockets. Very fortunate to be in such a room for such an experience. A credit to staff, volunteers and community.

Unique small ship cruises in the sheltered inside passage of SE Alaska, British Columbia, and the San Juan Islands of Washington as well as the Sea of Cortez, Baja California aboard the historic wooden vessels M/V Catalyst & M/V Westward. A larger cruise ship alternative...a smaller, more intimate, cruising experience.

IMA (San Juan Islands Museum of Art) A short walk from the ferry, IMA is the first art museum in the San Juan Islands. Along with a revolving repertoire of major exhibits of fine visual arts and workshops, IMA also offers a forum for local artists to display their work as part of its Artists Registry. IMA raises and distributes money to support art in the Friday Harbor elementary and middle schools, and runs the popular free "Family Art Days" program every Saturday in July and August in the orchard beside the museum. IMA is a registered 501 C 3 nonprofit organization and depends on donations, memberships, fundraising and a cadre of experienced, capable and dedicated volunteers.

This is a gem of a Native PNW gallery. The owner Lee Brooks deals directly with the artists, visits reservations all the way to Alaska to find the best artists and works available . Highly recommended for quality and fair prices

WaterWorks Galley is San Juan Island’s premiere gallery for contemporary artwork. Established in 1985 with the concept of showcasing artists based in the the Pacific Northwest and the San Juan Islands. A recent addition is Art jewelry. The work of the gallery’s painters and sculptors reflect the unique Northwest experience. Artists and their visions evolve and change, stimulated by the changing times we live in. Cheers

Pelindaba Lavender Friday Harbor offers handcrafted lavender products made exclusively at Pelindaba Lavender Farm on San Juan Island. Washington. - - - Pelindaba Lavender is a premier grower of lavender plants, distiller of lavender essential oils and handcrafter of lavender products. On our beautiful farm on San Juan Island, we undertake these activities in accordance with the highest environmental and aesthetic standards. We cultivate all our lavender flowers in our own organically certified fields and extract the essential oils from these flowers in our own on-site distillery. From these flowers and essential oils, we handcraft on-site a wide range of botanical, culinary, personal care, therapeutic, household & pet care products. This vertically integrated model of sustainable agriculture enables us to preserve the farmland from further development, protect it from pollution, create employment opportunities for our fellow islanders and provide a destination of natural beauty for islanders and visitors alike. We believe that these endeavors, pursued with integrity and passion, will provide ample satisfaction in both human and economic terms, and will do full justice to our name... Pelindaba "Place of Great Gatherings". - - - In 2004 we opened Pelindaba Lavender in Downtown Friday Harbor for many reasons, not least among which was to provide a location close to the ferry landing for visitors who might not be able to visit the farm, but who still wanted a taste of our products (literally and figuratively). This unique Product Gallery is located in the Friday Harbor Center on First Street in Friday Harbor, just a block from the ferry landing.
