Vermeer’s birthplace and a true gem, Delft sits between The Hague and Rotterdam in the country’s southwest. The city’s name comes from the Dutch word for digging, fitting since canals are a highlight here. Others include the 13th-century Old Church, the 15th-century New Church and the Prinsenhof, once home to William of Orange and now a museum. Delft has long been a center for fine ceramics, and traditional hand painting methods can still be witnessed at Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles.

The Escape Challenge in The Netherlands (Delft) is a unique new game experience, based on the room escape games you may know from your smartphone or the internet. There is only one big difference.... the Escape Challenge is real! The object of the game is simple: Try to escape from a locked room within one hour by finding hidden clues and solving mysterious puzzles. The theme of the game is The Dentist. You will be locked up in the creepy practice of the dentist and while trying to escape you will find out what atrocities took place between the walls of this horrible room! Special effects, a specially composed soundtrack and creepy lighting effects will increase the tension. Are you up for The Challenge? Play this unnerving game with a team of friends or colleagues with a minimum of three and a maximum of seven players. We have a Dutch version and an English version of the game available.
A bit of a day trip from Amsterdam, whilst traveling through, but definitely worth it. The team there were extremely accommodating for us undertaking the rooms as a couple. We did The End, The Orphanage and Honeymoon Hotel back to back. We were blown away with the detail and effort that goes into the rooms. Lots of unique elements and scary moments, you never know what to expect! Loved the orphanage theme and detailed elements they had in there, apparently from an actual old orphanage that closed down nearby. We were very pleased we got the chance to play these rooms, are some of the most memorable rooms out of the 150+ rooms we’ve done around the world.

An active activity with great laughs and you gain some serious axe throwing skills. It’s harder than it looks, making it all the more satisfying when you hit that bullseye.

Royal Delft, established in 1653, is the last remaining Delft earthenware factory from the 17th century. The world famous blue and white earthenware is still entirely handpainted according to centuries old tradition. Visit Royal Delft and see how we still authentically produce Royal Delftware!
I have never been a big fan of Royal Delft pottery though knowing it’s history and evolution; seeing master painters at work (up to ten years of training!); and touring its facility with a “magical” garden, large gift shop and lovely cafe have “sold” me. No, I may not purchase Delft pottery pieces though I have learned to appreciate and respect how it came to be and continues to enrich the world with its beauty.

The Museum Prinsenhof Delft offers a unique opportunity to explore the history of the Netherlands, Delft and delftware. The museum is housed in a building of great historical importance, the site of some of the most dramatic and consequential events of Dutch history. It was once the court of William of Orange, the Father of the Dutch Nation. In the museum you will also discover the role the citizens of Delft played in the history of the Netherlands and how delftware became the global brand it is today.
Great to have almost 30 paintings from all over the world of Golden Age (Gouden Eeuw) painter Pieter de Hooch in his creative home town Delft. The Prinsenhof museum is a historical place that does right to De Hooch’s paintings. Although PDH might not be as famous as his contemporary colleague from Delft, Vermeer, this temporary exhibition (till 16 February 2020!) is definitely worthwhile a visit to Delft in the next few weeks!

Friendly staff. Good range of draught beers and a huge choice of bottled beers. We stuck to the draught ones. Two drinks each on Saturday early evening and a return visit same time on Sunday. Excellent.

The Blue Tulip, launched in 1997, is a small factory (studio) in Delft, where the famous Delft pottery Delftware is made and fully brushstoked according to tradition. By maintaining this ancient tradition, the Dutch Delft rightly gained the worldwide reputation and fame. The painters do decorate by hand, down to the smallest detail. Every product bearing the trademark'' Blue Tulip'': a blue tulip, the initials'' SR "and the words'' Delft Holland''. In the small factory The Blue Tulip people can watch the Delft painter working at the product.
